Using the new 1936 engine, battlegoat are making additional changing and shipping over their 2 previous titles cold war and 2020 into what they are calling supreme ruler ultimate.  U will be able to play at the moment any country from 1936-2070.  Thier titles have shortcomings in terms of small elements like naval AI, and offshore resources but the game is highly playable and highly moddable.

Should be available next week as early access, though in terms its more a pre launch beta, the game is basically playable now and will go on full sale in october

Its now in early access

I love the series, but don't like the earlier settings personally.

Great memories, like turning Sri Lanka into a military island filled with nuclear power plants fueled by uranium from occupied Australia.  The nuclear war with China (well, I used nukes) ruined my reputation with the world, but I payed most of 'em off with years worth of bulk power.

If it's already playable, I suppose it's fair to ask now.  How well does it actually handle the post-war or interwar eras?  I didn't play 1936, but under 2020 rules, it felt like an end to World War 2 would have been America and the USSR directly owning half of Europe each.  Does it handle decolonization, independence movements, reformations of aligned governments/puppets/"friends" or other manners of nation creation?
