Currently am fiddling around with the game and testing a few additional "features" (modding a mod) I added while bored one day (hope you don't mind, Totaku!). Here are my most notable results:
Evil Eye Sigma was made even deadlier, firing more bullets, and has thicker metal plating. Nothing short of crossbows and candy can destroy it now! The hardest boss in the Touhou series should be able to reduce entire civilizations of muggles to ashes, after all. (Though oddly, their strength in worldgen is roughly inverse to the amount of them existing in the world. One EES is a deity. Six EES are liable to be destroyed by random historical characters. What is this code you might ask? After fiddling around with the files a bit, Cirno was revamped to not be a giant wrinkled prune of a fairy (wrinkling removed, size changed to be compatible with Sukian clothing) and now has the ability to use armor (metal is the best choice, as she has a tendency to
freeze off her dresses otherwise, being as smart as she is) and weapons, so she isn't as likely to be preyed upon by random hunters. Also tested her by making her playable, and with some training, even peasant Crino can impale a skinless lizard demon goddess with judicial use of a cold iron halberd. She's nowhere near invincible however, and will likely go down screaming like a baby kobold if anything touches a part of her body that isn't a wing. Most creatures that can shoot web will also find
the strongest to be a rather fine meal, though she can otherwise handle most titans just fine. Also fixed her sprite not displaying properly due to a typo in the image files.
Ice fairies were likewise tested as a playable race, though I have yet to figure out how to make them start with anything beyond the spear and dagger combo (they can equip Sukian clothing, however). They play like Cirno, only they're far worse at dodging attacks and posses less ice powers. Your best bet is to lure earth-bound semi-megabeasts and titans out in the open and fly high in the sky, dropping random objects to slowly but safely pelt them to death. Oddly, blue-haired ice fairies are a rarity; most of them are redheads, with the occasional teal or white hair.
And I've been working on a new semi-megabeast:
Shrine Tanks! Rika's original machine, and perhaps one of the most obscure characters in the entire Touhou fandom, tanks are cast iron, heavily armed and armored machines that are capable of launching fireballs, bullet clusters that can hit up to five targets at once, and a machine gun-like attack capable of hitting eight times with lead. Needless to say, bring a shield and a
whip bow before attempting to take on this beast, and be wary of explosions!
In addition, Shrine tanks can also be traded for from your local caravan if requested, but usually have a value in excess of 10,000, and are...
somewhat unreliable when used for surface defensive purposes, especially if you want to keep your yukkuri industry intact. As a roughly elephant-sized mass of solid iron, Shrine Tank parts produce large quantities of iron upon being smelted. Shrine Tanks will almost always leave behind at least their turrets upon being destroyed by any other means then melting (they're weak to dragon fire, but immune to most other types of flame). In fact, knocking off the turret is usually the only way to completely destroy it physically, as the chances of reaching the gear box within its hull are so miniscule as to be pointless to attempt.
Shrine Tanks are incredibly durable against the average NPC, and can roast most unwary adventures with little trouble. However, they posses an easily exploitable flaw: Their vision hatch is targetable and relatively easy to destroy with weapon such as a whip, causing the tank to go either berserk and aim it's attacks wildly, or shut down altogether, effectively disabling it (which is far safer then attempting to destroy it in melee).
As they're classified as semi-megabeasts instead of full megabeasts, tanks can appear in the game long, long before your forces are properly equipped to deal with them. They're vulnerable to most traps, including cages, and can't move through closed doors. Use these flaws to your advantage.
Butchering a live tank is a bad fun idea.
If it hasn't been made obvious yet, Shrine Tanks Typically explode upon destruction, which is why you shouldn't fight them up close.
