Divine Worlds: God Game Hub Thread
« on: November 02, 2017, 05:27:49 pm »

God Game
An empowered being or beings influence the progression of a territory, and often the lessor beings that inhabit it, who's belief in them may make them stronger. Turns may represent large jumps in time from one to the next. Gods may be themed, they may be allies, enemies, or neutral co-creators.

This thread is an archive of past games and quick list for new ones. The definition of a god game may vary depending on who you ask, so this will be laxed. If you think it is one feel free to share it.

ACTIVE GAMES
Activity within 2 months.
  • Eternal Saga (2017-10 ~)
Has four different godly levels plus having two resources, normal Acts as well as Power.

  • Gods of Creation (2017-10 ~)
Every turn we receive "offers" from various beings, after which they will often stick around in our reality.

  • ZL (2017-10 ~)
6 mages sculpt a land with the help of their spells.

PAST GAMES
Inactive or finished.
  • Calamities (2017-9 ~ 2017-10, Ended on Discord)
If too many people used Acts in one place - or used an Act specifically to get one - a random calamity would occur.

  • I will strictly be adding the ones someone asks me to... Preferably someone involved.
  • Please add some details about the theme and gameplay quirks.
  • Submissions MUST include a link!

Feel free to plan and discuss this type of game here aswell.

We need Eternal Saga and Gods of Creation. Calamities of the Gods (well, I think it was called that, we all just called it Calamities) was pronounced abandoned by Jerick (it's GM) Wednesday.

ES is run by Nakeen; it started with us having to kill the Titans that owned the reality we had been plopped into, has four different godly levels (essentially boiling down to eldritch abomination, normal god, demigod, and uber-powerful mage), plus having two resources, normal Acts as well as Power, the latter of which being what you use while "incarnated" on the Mortal Plane. Gods' realms are in the Divine Plane (unless you're one of the mage guys, in which case you have to create your Realm, and you do so in the Mortal Plane). Because we spent so much time fighting the Titans, were only just now getting into the godgaming part.

GoC is run by Roboson; it's a relatively mundane godgame, but every turn we receive "offers" from various beings, which will generally involve us paying someone else something to do or give us something, after which they will often stick around in our reality. This was the cause of such things as getting us our planet, getting us our glorious Troon (treemoon, previously known as the metreeor and Moonachusetts), an eldritch abomination who we've finally given a universal translator, slime god, and the sea of ratfish. :P

Calamities was marked by one specific mechanic: calamities. If too many people used Acts in one place - or used an Act specifically to get one - a random calamity would occur. These could be either good or bad, but since they were random, they were generally dangerous unless you were using power to specifically use a particular one - and that could still lead to more calamities.

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

I'm not the one with Ye Gods, but just FYI, Calamities should be under Past Games, not Active.

As far as I can tell, the last action was less than a couple weeks ago...

But Jerick, the GM, declared it over.
It happened over Discord, and it's possible they'll start it up again later, but for now, that's what we've got to go on.
