Is it possible in adventure mode to build a house for yourself, make items like bed, wardrobes etc and have some animals as yours?

No, but it will be! Toady's working on some major improvements to adventure mode, probably as we speak!
Listen closely, and you may hear his godly fingers typing out the code that shapes the very world..

..of Dwarf Fortress.

I'm hoping for this also, it would be fun to do stuff like in Unreal World, setting up a settlement and hunting animals/farming for food. All we really need is an interface to do everything that Fortress Mode allows, but in 1st-person (construct a wall, build a workshop, do a task in said workshop).

And then seven would arise and attempt to survive in the harsh online future. millions of newbs would flock to this great settlement in an attempt to last more then three days.

I was thinking about 2-8 players co-op game... but whatever.

It's good to see adventure's expansion is on the way! I hope it's going to be released this year...

I actually had a dream about online multi-player dwarf fortress, we wondered the world of adventure mode and saw a fortress under siege near a small village. It was awesome.

wait won't this become minecraft only now with more chances of grief?

I can see some dwarf builder crying for nerfs on everything because he can't take down a rat with his pick while he was making a house.

and someone with legion of bots make a magma cannon that floods half the world in magma spawn killing half of the server?
that and the huge lag from calculating all that moving.
this is just in normal just think of the mod servers *shivers* it would end up being second life.

We'd have to borrow NASA's supercomputers, obviously, to combat the lag.
And the insane random cruelty is a part of Dwarf Fortress culture.
