Funorb, by jagex has some interesting java games.

Arcanists, like worms armageddon.
Dekoblocko, with tetris jellymaking.
Miner disturbance, which is about a dwarf who digs for wealth, even though it's dangerous down there.
Dungeon assualt, which is about infiltrating somebody else's dungeon for gold. And placing traps for your own.

Theres a bunch of others which I never really got into, like kickabout, steel sentinals, and a tower defence clone.

Note that while the games are better if you pay, I enjoy them just fine without paying.

UFO AI. Yes, it is a UFO clone for mac.

But no destructible terrain.

Avernum. Apparently, it's being developed for Mac first, Windows second. It's not exactly free, but the demos alone will give you weeks of dungeon crawling fun. Some of the demos give a world as big as a lot of full games.
