C&C Red Alert was released as Freeware by EA a while ago, which is the best C&C game ever made IMO.  Anybody have a link for that?

No it isn't. It's either TBS or TBT (Turn-based strategy or turn-based tactics)

a1s, please tell me how to unlock the real time game mode of BfW; I am interested in trying it out [/sarcasm]
I really do not understand how someone could even remotely think Battle for Wesnoth is an rts.

Unfortunately, the Soviets are even more powerful and the allies have to fight them.
An even stranger thing is that KANE is Stalins adviser.
Jump to the nineties and behold starts CnC Tiberian Dawn.
