As opposed to what,  voluntarily be replaced? Not much better.
At least that way we won't have to sit here, twiddling our thumbs, not knowing for sure whether the replacee is truly in need of a replacement.

Strategia and I are waiting at the ready, if they give their consent  :-\

Sorry, the day was supposed to end last night, but I had an IRL emergency and was out all night.

No one has been lynched!

Mii- Jim Groovester
Flandre- obolisk 0430
obolisk0430-
Jim Groovester-
Dariush-

Not Voting: Mii, Dariush, Flandre

The Game is over!  The Mafia have won!
Dariush has won!  He was a Corrupt FBI Agent! (Mafia)
Flandre has won!  He was a Corrupt FBI Agent! (Mafia)

I didn't bother with flavor because it was clear that the players were no longer paying attention at this point.  I'd considered replacing in Strategia and Tiruin, but it seemed like a lost cause to replace two players at LYLO.  Better to let them play a new BM from the start; they'd learn more there.

This was a very disappointing end to the game.

Oooh, we had a scum IC? Link please  :D

(Eagerly awaiting the next BM, the activity waned near the end of the second day...)

And that's why you don't lurk at LYLO.

Pretty active deadchat, unless I was missing that from the past BMs. Here I thought Dariush was doing the Bad cop routine to train under pressure. Huh. Scumpoint? MagmaMcFry pointed it well in his grave.

Also, Jaxler was scum?!  :o

I feel elated at being pointed out in the scumchat. Lol at the off-topic reference.

Hope everyone learned, though. Why does activity go down by the way, when in later days? Motivation for the town or lack of reads?

I never suspected Flandre or Dariush. Complete lack of info.

Finally it's over. Being dead sucks. Next BM please!

I still can't explain Jim's behaviour. Why did he create a tie in the last moment of LYLO, knowing that it wouldn't be broken before dusk? Why wasn't he more active? Why?

Also, were there any town power roles?

Actually I was doing just that. ;) I didn't much care about the fact that I was scum and still tried to do my best to fix newbies' mistakes.

Well, that sucked. Perhaps for the next BM we could remove playing IC's

And that's what  good IC should do.

Newbies, if you see an IC doing something he did in a different BM, don't remark on it while adding "and he was scum in that game".
Well, that sucked. Perhaps for the next BM we could remove playing IC's
Nah. That didn't work as good.

And that's why you don't lurk at LYLO.
AND THAT'S WHY YOU DON'T FUCKING LURK AT LYLO.
I still can't explain Jim's behaviour. Why did he create a tie in the last moment of LYLO, knowing that it wouldn't be broken before dusk? Why wasn't he more active? Why?

At that point, it was less about suspects and more about getting people to fucking play the game they fucking goddamned signed up for. The game had been terrible up to that point and two people being completely absent made it unplayable.

Had I voted for Flandre instead, sure, scum would've been lynched and the game would've gone to a second lylo, but that would have been completely by accident and would have been nothing to be proud of.

Well, that sucked. Perhaps for the next BM we could remove playing IC's

That wasn't the game's problem. It's perfectly possible to have a good Beginner's Mafia game with playing ICs. I should know, since I've been in several.

Hmmmm. It just seems like people trust the IC's more.

Players learn better if they have the hands on attention of the ICs there to guide them and be examples.

It's a problem for beginners because ICs look like (and are) unassailable monoliths of mafia, and new players aren't equipped to try and take them on. But the point of a beginner's mafia isn't to take on the ICs or even win the game, it's to learn how to play. So I really don't see this as much of a problem.
