I reset the simulation again to the moment the AoP was revealed.
Quote from: Lyra to Steve
Please help set Simulated Avatar of Peace automanip count. Need information I do not have.
Ask Steve to help me with my simulation, setting the AoP's automanip durability appropriately (estimated I would assume, but he has the best info to make said estimate) for the situation I'm attempting to run.

I then set all my teammates to flee, firing their weapons defensively, and leaving me behind. I remove the slow-motion effect from the simulation (which is still paused), and I save the state of the sim, because I'm probably going to have to reset this several times.

I then take a moment to steady myself, and set the sim to run.

The first turn of my first attempt I'm going to stay cloaked, and wait for it to use its crowdwire. As soon as the crowdwire comes out, I'm going to redirect it (via mass-manip amp), tangling it and making it constrict around the AoP. since the AoP's crowdwire system is attached to it, it should be unable to dodge a tangle of its own crowdwire moving down the line towards it, since at it moves the tangle will move with it.
In case this was missed / forgotten - Lyra is still doing this.

Mycroft disengages his hand but follows.
Some sort of weapons training program is quickly cued up and practiced in.

Lock self in room, use Will stim from research incentive to trip balls talk to the alien power source via mechanist gauntlet mediation. Preferably do this via PMs or IRC to be later copy-pasted since if we go via turns this will take several weeks.

Sit in the chapel and pray.  Pray for the safety of all of those out on missions.

Also check in with the AM about getting a statue for Tek in the Chapel.

If not the first, then the second
Well the AM is nowhere to be found, so I guess praying is all you can do.

Missed my action:

Volunteer for mission 25.

Will Steve do some sort of Ic briefing so we know what's IC knowledge and what isn't?.

Does Steve think it's 'safe' for Miya and his synthflesh avatar (and universal manip) to go on that mission, or would that be too much of a gamble? In general, should we avoid taking any kind of origin stuff in there?

Quote
Do we get full refunds if we turn in our existing origin tech?
Quote
Sure.
Quote
No, it's more like a "Don't attract attention" sort of deal. Like Our dear departed Morul's attraction of Timmy with is void suit.
So, is there any reason to have multiple brains for a manip now? Will the brainpoints (assuming one has a good one) be the limiting factor, or more the limited uses? To put it another way, these bad effects, do they happen more quickly when one uses spessmagic in a 'bigger' way (eg heating a cup of tea as opposed to heating a swimming pool) or is it strictly counted in usages?
Five.

We'll get a briefing once we're ready.

eh...safe? Hmm. Well, its a gamble but so long as you don't over use either, you'll probably be fine.

Yeah, bigger is more attention, so having lots of brains isn't as good as it was before, but it might still have uses.

Float around. Swear a lot. Locate cigars for smokin'!
Ya already got one, remember? And gin.
Coolio, I'll volunteer for M25 then. And go throw my stuff back in my room, except the HEP pyramid. Keeping that one with me.
Six.

Stock up for M25.

Firstly, buy 6 sticky goop grenades for 2 tokens.

Secondly, buy 2 electronades for 1 token.

Then check how my lovely red moss sample has been growing in all this time. How's it responding to zero-g conditions?

Wiki.

The red moss has spread across most of your room and is currently dissolving your bed.

It is responding by floating.

Scratch and pet Sir Jackson's Alot. Assuming it's an actual cute fuzzy thing and not made of puke.
Help him make his binoculars actually good and not shitty.

Abigail will buy 2 cans of medifoam for one token
Huh....weird how did i know that....ah well... I'll need the medicine for myself
Abigail makes sure her suit is on and clutching the medi foam's follows someone to the briefing room

You realize we REALLY can't simulate this now what with the automanips and such going nuts. If you tried this in real life you might end up summoning something even worse.

Lars (Toaster)
Miyamoto de Bergerac (Radio Controlled)
Sir Jackson II (spazyak)
Dubley Steptimus (NAV)
Jason Caldwell (Beirus)
Faith Valentine (IronyOwl)
Ben Neutro (bcneuf)

That's 8 lemmings ready to go.

Would it help to shut off my manip until I need it? Could we 'insulate' (eg using magic eating pollen) the avatar or manip a bit so it's less noticeable?

Quote
Yeah, bigger is more attention, so having lots of brains isn't as good as it was before, but it might still have uses.

Such as? I mean, I might have +4 uncon, but I'm feeling that if I use the very good manip brain to it's limit in one action (aka big usage) that it'll already attract too much attention. Unless the attention only really becomes a problem after the 4th usage?

Lyra was in the VR when things went crazy, and hasn't left to become informed (the action is from before it happened and just has taken a long time to run). This sim isn't for actual combat capabilities testing, it's because she is dwelling on what happened during that mission. Someone (steve?) would have to stop her or cancel the sim or something.

Besides, it's VR. The sim was set up before things went crazy, and is based on pre-crazy settings. Since VR amp / manips don't actually use the user's amp / manip or cause effects on the ship, it shouldn't be an issue. right?

Still want to run that action.
