Toss the branch and grab another rock for use later as a hammer stone (to further sharpen the other rock).

Listen, see if we hear anything intersting (running water, animals).

Do this. Then we can make our next move, which I suggest would be to continue down this slope?/valley?/hill? to the southwest. Hopefully once water is found, we can look for an animal to kill, unless we know about local edible plants, which I assume we don't.

Turn 4
Midday

You listen carefully. You hear birds singing, the wind rustling the leaves and running water to the south-west.
You fail to see any vines, the environment simply does not seem to support this life form type.
You find a low, prickly bush with small, opaque pale red berries. You squeeze one, to find the inside is orange. You decide to take a hand full.
You grab a weighty little rock and carry it in your arms.

What do you do?

This isn't Haven and Hearth  :P. I personally haven't a clue if I could make a basket out of twigs, having also no wilderness experience as the character does.

Turn 5
Afternoon

You eat a berry. It's very bitter, with a hint of sweetness.

You head south-west toward the sound and come across a stream
that flows to the south-east.

You think of making a basket out of branches, but can't fathom even
how to begin such a structure. Something to do with wrapping them
around each other, but beyond that...

You pile some berries on the grass near the stream and hide in a nearby
bush for a while. Soon after, two tiny birds land nearby and tentatively
make their way to the berries.

What do you do?

The birds shall be Berrybirds. Throw the weighty rock at one of the Berrybirds.

While we could try to get lucky and hit a bird with a rock, and making cord (necessary in most weapons/traps) is probably beyond the scope of our understanding at the moment, we would be better off building some kind of simple deadfall trap with sticks and large rocks now that we have bait. Maybe we can try to look for some kind of fish or animals in the stream to eat?

Right, but why not try to hit the bird? Worse case scenario, we miss and it flies away. We pick up the rock again. Not so bad. If we hit it... Dinner time!

Turn 6
Afternoon

You throw the hefty rock, but the weight of it makes it difficult to
throw quickly and accurately at the small Berrybirds. It misses, and they fly away.

You retrieve your wonderful stone and the remaining Fireberries.
On second thoughts, you place your belongings on the floor
and gather some long grass, for some reason.

Whilst pulling the tall grass from the undergrowth of the forest,
you discover a peculiar looking creature three feet (90cm) away. It is about a foot (30cm) tall
and covered in short grey fur. It has two grasshopper-like legs and four smaller legs,
the forward pair looking more like little arms. It has a furry little tail, mouse-like ears and one eye.

It is not moving, but seems to be watching you - as far as you can tell.

What do you do?
