The world is new and undeveloped, but the various races of the world are starting to wake up. Fields are being plowed, swords are being forged, and cities are beginning to grow rapidly.

Perhaps the most dangerous and fascinating new development, however, is that of magic. Currently possessed by only a tiny handful of individuals in the entire world, it has the potential to revolutionize everything.

You are one such individual, or hope to be shortly. You have been taken on as an apprentice by the first person to discover magic in your area, and now hope to use it- and possibly the political strings gained by being so close to the current ruler of your city- to accomplish great things.

-Character Creation-
Name: Obvious
Caste: Gender and race. Describe the race in some detail if custom.
Appearance: What you look like
Personality: Needn't be long or complex, but at least a brief description of what kind of person you are
Bio: Not optional, but can be short and simple.

-Wizard Submission-
As character creation, plus a description of their magical abilities or tendencies. Don't worry about not knowing how magic works or what's available; I'll just match their general intent with how magic as they understand it works.

-City Submission-
Name: Obvious
Race: Obvious. Note that having more than one race would be very unusual for a city.
Location: The immediate surroundings of the city. Terrain affects what improvements can be built there and can have a handful of other effects.
Province: The city's location in broader, more general terms. What kinds of settlements, races, and terrain exist in general beyond the city's borders but still potentially in its area of interest.

To join, fill out the character sheet. Sheets will be selected based on how interesting they are and how much I like them. Nirur probably also has a reserved spot for coming up with and running the game I ruthlessly stole from to produce this one.

We will also need a wizard and starting location. Filling these out is not mandatory for submitting a character, nor is submitting a character mandatory for suggesting a wizard or starting spot. The winning entries will most likely be a combination of how interesting and conducive to play I find them, and how much everyone else likes them.

If you have any questions, please ask. I can't necessarily reveal everything (magic is vague partially by design, for instance), but I might be able to clarify some stuff (I think the race descriptions may have come out too terse, for example).

Name: Shek'Zeer
Caste: Female Kik'kithik Princess caste
Appearance: This except youngerish.
Personality: Defiant and withdrawn, likes being outdoors, and fond of syrup, as it reminds her of the sacred tree sap. Not too fond of enclosed spaces and doesn't take to personal relationships easily.
Bio: Ran from the great city of Scaratone when old enough, due to not wanting to become another brood mother to the swarm and sit in a dark and small room all day every day doing nothing but eating and giving birth.

Might make a city/wise old master later. For now AUGH SO LATE.

-Wizard Submission-
Name: Slough
Caste: Shambler
Appearance: A mass of rust-coloured leaves with bright-green shoots occasionally protruding between them. One 'arm' is short and stiff, and held at an upwards angle with apparent burning at the end, while the other is about half-again as long as its body and drags along behind it. There is no discernible head and its 'legs' are a single mass, although they are flexible enough to use a motion similar to bipedal walking.
Personality: Methodical but prone to bouts of obsession or anger. Comparatively reduced sense of individuality but fond of peace and quiet. It is attempting to build a nation of flora and the wilds to compete with the ever-encroaching nations of technological fauna.
Bio: Long has it absorbed the energies of its environs without awareness of the fact. But recently, during a battle against a force of farmers intent upon clearing its lands, these energies coalesced into a form that bolstered its awareness of the world and granted it command of the land and that which grows in it. After burying its attackers in a mound of soil and dense roots, it ventured to the deep forest to commune with the energies that it had discovered. After a very long period spent in meditation, it made a brief connection to all the wild lands of the world, and sensed the great loss that had befallen them in recent centuries. It now seeks to amass will enough to compete with the ravenous hunger of the nations that now surround its home.
magical abilities or tendencies: Land manipulation, Flora manipulation, Flora communication.

-City Submission-
Name: Holy Oaks
Race: 80% Shambler 20% Dryad
Location: Dense rainforest, by necessity the city itself is somewhat sparser than its surrounding, with most of the population dwelling in buttresses formed by the dense root systems of the local trees, which in turn are propagated within the city for this property. Some wooden and dirt structures exit for communal purposes, such as storage and meeting-places. The dryad population lives above the city amidst what appears to be sporadic wooden scaffolding with occasional ramps to the ground. The dryads mostly keep to themselves, and the shamblers have little ability to scale the comparatively light dryad structures, though the dryads appreciate the safety offered by the shambler city and are known to occasionally assist the shambler community.
Province: The forest itself is quite large though it is completely surrounded by clear grassland, most of which has been settled. To the west and north is a large Kik'kithik empire which little over a decade ago ended a period of militaristic expansion due to assorted conflicts within the empire itself. While they generally keep themselves busy, there is always a supply of ambitious individuals looking to gain some advantage from the lands beyond. Two rivers run through the forest from the Kik'kithik empire. The southern river meets with various loosely-affiliated Gnoll settlements to the south of the Forest and will occasionally see traffic from Harpies somewhere beyond them. While to the East of the forest the northern river encounters A large, and predominantly nomadic, centaur nation. Despite their nomadic life-style, the centaurs maintain a standing army and fortifications around the north-eastern edge of the forest. Traffic along the northern river is rare and subsequently the wildlife is more prolific in that region.

PT Watch, Read Later, and Possibly Play Later.
Edit: turns out that 'Later' was quite soon. Will there only be one of each? One city, one wizard, and one apprentice?

I suppose I'll make a prophylactic reserve here.

EDIT: And it turns out it wasn't even necessary. Well, can never be too sure.

I have pretty much had enough with my wizard+city submissions, so consider them to be in their final form. Obviously the G.M. may feel the need to modify them to better suit the setting... My character is just copied over from the other thread, and I don't expect to touch that until we have a setting...

One city, one wizard, probably 4-6 apprentices. Still considering the exact count.
