Eight is players is very good! Just one more player and that would make a full game or we can just move on with eight as Shinigami suggested.

Regardless, I am going to be finishing up the Role PMs tonight so they are ready for tommorow. The introduction flavor shouldn't take too long either, although I want to see what our final player count is before I get anything finalized.

That may be the case as well. We shall see where things go.

Should push come to shove, I would not be against you stepping down from the role of Assistant GM and joining the game. This would place a bit more pressure on me, but it may be worth it for the sake of balance.

Dariush cursed his luck. It would have been far better for him had the bullets killed him. At least then he could have died a martyr, rather than as a rat in a cage. The bullets merely wounded him enough to subdue him long enough for the Empire's Peacekeeping force to drag him off to this hell hole. They also patched his wounds and removed the bullets from his chest. Only three scars now remain where the bullets had pierced them. A permanent reminder of the Empire's victory over both him and the Rebels.

The events of the March Revolution would constantly play over and over in Dariush's mind as he continued his meaningless existence. What could he have done better? How had he not seen that Nerjin was a traitor?

Four walls. An iron door. No light. No bed. No sanctuary, even within his own mind.

And so time passed by.



"Viva la Revolucion! Free the prisoners!"

Gunshots and screaming voices filled the hallway. The old watch cry of the Revolution came calling back to Dariush. It was all too fantastic to be true, and Dariush knew it must be a dream. He went back to sleep. Dariush would immediately wake up from his stupor as his prison door was blasted open. Not a dream. Light flooded his dark cell, blinding him. A hand reached towards him and grabbed his arm.

"Come on… Up and out!" Two other people proceeded to helped Dariush to his feet and steadied him. His mind was struggling to comprehend to comprehend the madness unfolding, but he had just enough clarity to recognize his savior.

"NQT… You glorious bastard… Where did you get those damn explosives?" He asked, looking his ally in the eyes.

"Leftovers from last the March Revolution. Embers if you will." NQT replied. "Now let's get the hell out of here."



"Down with the Evil Empire!" Nerjin exclaimed from atop a wooden crate, rallying the rebels.

Cheers erupted from their small band of the eight freedom fighters that were meeting underneath the Winston Overpass. Dariush spat into the ground. Nerjin was the one who shot him back during the March Revolution. But, he was also the only reason that the rebels were able to storm the prison.

Apparently, Nerjin had defected from the spies over a disagreement with the newly promoted Zombie Urist. Joining the second Revolution gave him a way to get back at his old "friend". Now, with the complete success of the prison break, Nerjin had become a Rebel celebrity overnight.

"First order of business!" He cried out. "We need to assemble a team of three to scout a new base of operations. Once we have an established position, we can start trying to build public support for the Revolution. However, we must be wary, for even among a group as small as us, there may be spies who will attempt to sabotage our operations." Nerjin's eyes fell upon Dariush.

"Dariush, since you are one of our most experienced members, we will allow you to pick the first team. When you finalize your team, we will all vote whether to accept it or deny it, so as to avoid Spies sabotaging our operations. Should your team be rejected, we will simply move down the line to the next member on our list. Any questions?"

Silence.

"Good, Dariush take the stage."

The veteran rebel quickly springs into action, taking his rightful place on the wooden crate. Dariush cracked his wrists in anticipation. This is what he had been waiting for.

"Let's do this."

And so it begins.


As in the last game, the Current Team Leader will have about 72 hours to create a team. A vote on the current setup can be initiated sooner by marking the proposed team setup in red.[b/]

Dariush is your current leader!

EDIT: I am a bit of a failure right now... Some PMs have not been sent correctly. Please tell me if you need your role sent to you.

Er, are we playing with eight players? Assuming you are using the rules from the first game, that means that the town has to nail the spyteam to not lose the last day, and considering the fact that, additionally, during the first day we are groping through the dark, town are almost in the worse position than the last game. Also, using the board game's rules is stupid because we kinda don't see each other.



Now that OOC questions are safely above the line you see just a bit higher, allow me to explain my thoughts on the matter at hand.

No matter how much time we spend on the first day, nobody will be physically able to prove his or her towniness any more than we knew at the beginning due to lack of confirmable actions. The only thing scum would do differently may be communicating with their fellow spies to try and set up the rules for actions when there are multiple spies on the team, but if their fellows can see the question, so will the rest of us. Therefore, this possibility can be safely discarded. So, how would we actually judge the possibility of a given person being town during the first day? We can only see the perceived scumminess of something said by them, which, let's be honest, will usually be newbies regardless of their alignment. On the other hand, scum can manipulate the public opinion towards choosing one of them, while the town cannot do the same due to not knowing anyone's alignment.

The above paragraph may be slightly rambling and incoherent, but I've already spent like 20 minutes on writing it and don't want to rewrite it any more. What I'm saying is, there's no point in discussion until we know the first results. I decided to trust RNG and came up with numbers 3, 7 and 2. That corresponds to NQT, Griffinpup and Nerjin. And now I'm going to sleep because goddamn I just had an exam to which I was preparing for the entire previous day and when I came there I just got the top mark right away. Good night.

Gonna have to agree with Dariush. We have no way of finding anyone day 1 without results. On the plus side, the spies weren't given a chat if i remember from page 1, so they need to lay hints for eachother on what each should do. This makes it a bit easier to try and find them as they need to try and comunicate.

...Wait, do we PM whether we agree with the team or not?

Why would you not use Lazarus in this enlightened era? Unless you're a mazochist who likes to retype posts, that is.

Yeah the whole 3/8 is gonna leave us in a bit of a lurch it seems…

I for one support the team cause… well you can’t really judge people much on the first day due to the lack of anything concrete. First mission’s basically a lost cause. But after today we’ll have three suspects if it fails.

I don’t plan to. Granted I didn’t really plan for that thing to get me back into the town’s good graces. It was honestly just me being a whiny bitch about the whole issue. So… No I don’t plan to play the emotional appeal [which it wasn’t meant to be].


Moving on though to questions:

Dariush: You mention that you’d rather not take me or NQT. Why is that? Why do you feel safe with Griff?

NQT: How do you feel about the use of a RNG over just picking random people yourself? Is either method better?

Griffonpup: If tonight’s mission fails how do you plan to deflect suspicion off of yourself?

Rangercado: You mention how the spies are going to have a harder time trying to communicate. How do you know that they won’t just ignore eachother or use the thing from Rev I? My actual question to you is this: Just how much of a nerf do you think the spy-team has received?

Remuthra: If you could know the alignment of two players who would they be and why?

Shinigami_King: Which team do you feel is more powerful on day 3? Why?

Tiruin: What would you look for when trying to put together a team?

Tiruin: I was going to post questions but had to catch the bus. Spy tells would be laying down hints for someone to do something. Saying things like "If i were a spy i would've..." can be taken as small hints to Spymates that they should do something next round. Once we leave RVS, that will become relevant being asked directly what you would do as a side right now seems okay to me. OMGUSing also has a form here as calling someone a spy for calling you a spy. (Also, you got your factions wrong in that question to Shinigami)

Question Time!
Tiruin: What side do you think you would enjoy playing the most?
Dariush: Who do you think would be the hardest to figure out if they were a spy of those here?
Nerjin: Are you going to keep the whole "Worst Mafia Player ever" thing going into this game too?
Pup: Who would be your best 2 spymates if you could pick?
NQT: What 2 players would you want to have as confirmed Rebels with you?
Remurthra: Who would you be least afraid of as Rebel? And a Spy?

I do. I'm gonna keep it SOMEWHERE in my profile forever because I'm a bitter bastard sometimes. Why do you ask?

Well I've only played it in this forum so I don't know how spies could really do well. It seems like it'll be a mad scramble unlike last time where they had a plan. That being said the old set-up WAS over-powered for scum. I'm sorta curious to see how this game would work with power-roles but I'm rambling. As for the scenario you outlined I would think hope they'd both go for it. It'd be stupid as all get-out but hey! That nails down 2 spies so it's not an issue.
