Those scars have gotta be from the fight with the giant tiercel peregrine.

Cool update, maybe the dwarven caravan will bail us out?

I'm more worried about the food supply.  Also, can our own dead soldiers, if they come back to life..er..undead...and join the mob can prove more dangerous than anything else out there.  More updates please!

From the Diary of Monitor "War Lizard" Lisard, carpetner stonecrafter:

"It's autumn already, and we are still being besieged by undead. Underground farms are supplying us with the needed resourses, and we've go enough leather to equip an entire army with *eagle leather trousers*.

Here's our food stock:

Our drinks:

The most of zombies gathered underwater, near the old floodgate that leads to our farm plots. This dead mob looks horrible.

HOLY TORAL LOOK AT THAT RING. It's a masterfully made ring which have been masterfully encrusted with amethist.

It's worth 2520 dwarfbucks. If we sell it, we can buy something really expensive. Or should we probably keep it?

Our military's training in the barracs. Some are sparring, while our commander tries to lead wrestling demonstration with his fractured knee.

Close look at sparring swordman and recruit:

Soon we'll counterattack the undead.

"Attack maneuver failed. Colonel's missing, but he had no chance. Every other soldier is dead. We're doomed.

I shivered. Nothing could make me look at Uristoteles's face.

"I need recruits to block the main hall. I'll be leading the advance."

There are 25 dead bodies left, and 50 dwarves are still alive. Toral help us."

Should I savescum again or die trying to break the siege? I need your advice, guys.

I think you should line the plumbing tunnels with all sorts of nasty traps and then let the zombies get ground up in there.

No savescumming!
Recruit every adult dwarf, equip with crossbow, quiver and bolts and meet the deads with rain of bolts.
Does necromancer raise deads again?

Also,

Added "no savescumming" to the official rules for good measure. Take note everyone!

Lisard gets a free pass for the earlier savescum because I did neglect to include it in the rules.

Fill the passageways with traps.  Also blunt weapons and bolts work very well against zombies.   Fight to the last Dwarf!

From the Diary of Monitor "War Lizard" Lisard, carpetner stonecrafter:

"Some jeweler had mooded and constructed an artifact harp. This instrument is astonishingly beautiful. I wonder what made this dwarf create such a great artifact during hard times.

It is also quite expensive. Our fortress has created much wealth during these years.

I don't care. This place is a mess. Undead destroyed our entire militia, and goblins are ruling us from mountainhome. Colonel's dead, many other dwarves are too. FUCK THIS!

...Patience, Lisard. This fortress is your home. You must save these dwarves from the invaders.

We've dug a new room for commander's tomb. Here're some of us:
Upper left: Dwarvinator, Lower left: Saint, Upper right: Monitor Lisard.

This is commander Argembarger's tomb and memorial. We should do some engraving and place statues around the grave. Rest in piece, colonel.

They're gonna pay. FOR MERCHANTLUSTS!

That's what you get, fuckers.

We won this battle, but I doubt the war's over.

It's winter now."

Hm, that'll work. Although what I was thinking had been utilizing the tunnel under the floor hatch under the pond. Would have provided a more narrow chokepoint. At least, if I understand the Plumbing Manual correctly.

Anyway, great work! Finish up strong and we'll see what peregarrett can do with this mess.

From the Diary of Monitor "War Lizard" Lisard, carpetner stonecrafter:

"It's mid-winter, and we've started cleaning the fortess and the local area. There are blood and dead bodies everywhere outside the fort, pool's shoaled, and farm plots are flooded.

Grey Langur men got cocky and stole some army equipment. We killed two of them, but the rest made off with two steel mail shirts and an artifact eagle leather shield. We should retrieve the rest of weaponry and armor we lost on the battlefield.

Farms were successfully drained and our farmers have already started planting seeds on the ground level farms.

Ambush happened. Three goblin thieves were crushed by traps immediately. One goblin maceman had his both legs torn off by a weapon trap and crawled away. Four green bastards died trying to storm the Trade depot. One more goblin fleed. Let him tell his green overlords what had happened to their raiding party.

Finally, it's spring. I got pretty tired of being an Overseer. Things were going rough this year, but we managed to make Merchantlusts a prosperous fort. I'm going to retire as a stoneworker. Let the dwarves of Merchantlusts choose their next leader."

I'm uploading the save.

Good. Will start tomorrow.

A few things that I'm going to fix:
- DEPOT IS INACCESSIBLE!!!!!111!! NOT TOLERABLE!!! Really, traps are blocking wagons.
- Stone traps? Where's dwarven fine and deadly machinery?! Serrated discs, axes, spiked balls on the go.
- No caverns breached? No magma forges?! What's that, a dwarven coal age or what? Dig deeper, bastards.
- Military and defensive design.
- ???
- PROFIT!!!
