Well, right now, you're helping by being a destructive force on the PCs.

But since you're a god, you won't get control over the city-states like the others, since this is when the Gods finally get some power over people.

So you, GreatWyrmGold, Remuthra, and KJ1225 will all be playing a slightly different game then everyone else.

So when renovations are complete, then yeah, Xantaserpent will go dormant again for you to re-control later if that become needed.
