// Alright, I'll admit it - The [Highcore] Prison was a rather terrible idea, at least for the universe it was set in, since it was a bit random and largely unrelated to the lore of YAaSD. This one is much more fitting and should also be more fun to play overall. Still kept in the same style, of course.
Besides, this one seems more fitting, since it gives you an insight on how the humanity died and the power that the demons can have.

The Abyss. Hell. The Outlands.
Those are only a fraction of the many names that people give to the enigmatic mirror dimension, similar to our own, inhabited by many a soul of those that had to be parted with their mortal bodies. The souls that wander here are demons, but not all demons are necessarily evil as their name would suggest -  The place that is easy to enter, but almost impossible to leave, unless one was lucky enough to get a soul offer from a mortal and be summoned into the living realm.

However, a very unusual event has happened recently in the mortal realm - a great dragon's rampage has caused an influx of souls entering the demonic plane, and the desperate living have requested help to banish the Harbinger. They spoke to Clafarius, the most powerful demon at the time, bearing a power of collectively over a thousand souls, and many demonic vassals. Clafarius however, did not want souls for his work - instead, he wanted much, much more than that - every thousand years, the barrier seperating demons from the living would shatter for one night, and the undead would come back and leave destruction in their wake, further expanding their very legions of apocalypse.

Now you stand in the bleak landscape, as a sole, powerless soul, with a chance of ascension into power as the gate opens once more, four thousand years after the dragon was banished and trapped in the realm of the living.

You notice a lot of demons of all kinds, shapes and form gathering around a tall, ominous structure near you - a pitch-black, round gate, pulsating with red light from the inside, with a translucent wall of the same color in the middle. You are confused about this, as are many other of your comrades, but others very quickly understand it and swiftly move through it, with others following.

"You shouldn't stay here.", they say. "The gate closes by the morning."

Who were you? What do you look like? How long have you been in this hellhole?
// (you can be a carp for all I care, since you're probably gonna end up with a Gyarados-like posture)

Name: Name is meaningless for death and attenuation into obscurity is inevitable
Appearance: A carp-like entity comprised of a spongy, bloodless substance with vague features and no discernible organs
Age: Meaningless. But for the sake of this banality, records have been kept. Six centuries.

So what, a giant sponge? (not so giant anymore, though)
How did you even end up here?

Someone figured out how to make blocks out of cotton candy. And then we had pink sugary pain crush us.

Shameless self-bump.
I hate doing this, but I'm not going to hope for someone else to do it. *scrub*
