No worries, we know how it can get. I enjoyed reading through this one. I'm looking forward to see what happens.

Posting to let you guys know this is still not dead, I'm really sorry for the delays, but I've had some personal things come up and am currently working on a conclusion to a previous forum game that should be done by tomorrow. At the latest I will have an update done this Saturday (my time) and will kick right back into my update schedule, I will in fact work over time on it to try and get as many updates as possible out to make up for the delay.

You work quickly as you set about solidifying your current position by finishing off some of the last bits of infrastructure you need to finish your small foothold in space. Your Advanced Fabrication unit pumps out three Hauler drones, currently without a launch bay to land in but they should be fine seeing as they aren't likely to need repair anytime soon.

Your Orbital Lab also shines through as the various sub-routines and programs you initiated, and the rather large section of your processor power you dedicated to the job quickly produces results. The wireless energy transfer and resource refining turned out to be a fairly simple process to design, but the 'Eye' Scout Drone ends up costing you one of your interceptors as you tear it apart to get the needed knowledge for its creation. On the up side the dis-assembly of the interceptor gives you both blueprints for the fighter itself and lets you put the final pieces together for producing Yulith-Pattern Autocannons.

The SCDs you set to repairing the damage to your shell, and this task they succeed rather greatly in as they remove damaged sections of the Second Ring and use the salvage to repair the rest of the damage. By the time that is done you decide to shut them down for a moment as you find both the First and Third rings would be quite expensive to repair the rest of the way.

Just as your contemplating something your sensors trigger a few alarms in the system, examining the alarms closely you find a rather disturbing event occurring. Your sensors pick up some faint energy readings that are slowly working their way across the surface of the moon, as the readings move they seem to be slowly dropping for some reason. Attempts to get a visual of the surface with your sensors turns out to be unsuccessful, and you are left thinking on how to proceed ...

Hey Adwarf, glad to see you back at it!

I would advocate for the creation of at least one Eye Scout Drone to get a closer look at that moon. In the meantime, monitor the moon in the radio, infra-red, visible, ultra-violet, and gamma ray spectrums of light.

+1

and, start making turrets and bullets to defends ourselves, and then build interceptors, and build another Launcher bay.

And then research  more efficient/larger Solar Arrays, Quicker Advanced fabs, and Better Scanners

Maybe a bit much for one update? +1 regardless.

Three buildings, three research's, we have three research slots! And we have 9 construction drones, so 3 drones on each, and if they require more we specialize on more, but for now its generalized.

Fair enough.

Actually, I propose we research a power core generator rather than an improved solar installation.

Also, I  believe we have enough bullets and turrets, and enough interceptors for the time being. Still, another launcher bay might come in useful, but we also need a refinery and a subspace power conduit.

With the new 'Eye' drone now in your databases you begin production immediately, setting the fighter factory to assemble three of them before turning your attention to the Munition Fabrication Deck. The structure wasn't made to build anything but the simplest of weapons and thankfully the Yulith-Pattern turns out to be one of those weapons, you queue up one and a decent amount of ammunition to go with it before turning to the SCDs. The nine drones obediently and immediately jump to action as you command the construction of a third drone bay, by the time the scout drones are done a massive chunk of the construction is already complete.

Science wise you devote the lab to the design of a Solar Array Complex to generate a much greater supply of power, and a Basic gravitational and geosurvey array. You attempt to design an Advanced Fab Unit but it proves far to complex to you at the moment, however your progress there does lead to a surprise breakthrough whereupon you believe you've managed to produce a Basic Fab Unit blueprint. While only one of the projects has been completed you feel you're progressing quickly, who knows soon enough you rival what once existed here though you still have no clue what that might have been ...

With your new scout drones finally completed you dispatch two of them to the surface of the moon in the direction of where that energy reading anomaly occurred in the hopes of finding something. It takes roughly an hour for them to reach the sight, but what they find is quite interesting, the bare rock of the planet is torn to shreds and scorched in places while scattered about the surface hear a handful of metal corpses are strewn about. These corpses are the remains of some form of tracked, and even a few wheeled vehicles from the looks of it, some of them are only slightly damaged while a few of the tracked ones are melted into something akin to flash frozen slag. As your drones move into take a closer look red bolts of energy begin to tear from the darkness all around, burning the air and narrowly missing the two drones who quickly turn tail and flee. This proves that something is down there, but from the looks of it they certainly aren't friendly ...
