You can also try to assassinate the regents until you're regent or a regent is on the Throne (they get a massive boost to intrigue). Or take a loan and use it to pay for an assassination. Or just do something else for a while (Try to invade Tuscany maybe? Start working on that Gotland republic?)

Well, the problems being that daddy has only two unmarried courtiers. Both male.

Eh, guess I'll just wait it out.

You would think it would be easier to kill a person who'd been clonked out of his wits.

Yeah, keep assassinating the regents.  Even if you don't become Regent you'll eventually hit one that is willing to help the plot.

GAH.

So I was playing and then I hit upon the idea to cheat play Patriarch BFEL so I could put his character traits in line with my RL ones, and then game over because you aren't allowed to do that.

ARGH EVERYTHING I DID IS GONE NOW.

Stupid Paradox and your stupid theocracy rules.

Probably just gonna milk us for money for the "feature" down the line....

You know what guys, I'm probably gonna have to bow out on this.

Every time I try and make progress something stupid happens and frankly I just don't have any desire left to play CKII right now.

Sorry guys, I wanted to make a nice funny story about a nutball tyrant declaring himself "UltraGod" and castrating/killing all his heirs, not to mention imprisoning everyone else, but its just not happening :(

Well, no big deal, post your most recent save. Maybe I should keep playing until my peep die? It would make it funnier for the next guy.

Well, I though he'd be a quick few years until I died, but my peep managed to live for 16 years a cripple, with a skill 31 (!) spymaster at -100 relation. I even got appointed my own regent. Yup.

So here is the save. I'll write up the update now.

The Most Radical Cripple in the Radical Lands: a mostly true History of His Highness Drooly McRetard, aka Sheb

Spoiler: Long Update (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Greek Fire Interlude (click to show/hide)

However, the strain of the Greek Fire adventure was too much for the frail nature of Basileus Sheb

You'll be missed by no-one.

Still some way to go.

Yeah! No 1!

*Actually, it wasn't needed because Bulgaria is de jure part of the Empire, but I forgot about that part.
** I clicked on the wrong button and decided to go with it.
*** I don't have screenshots, but I took it back at some point. Murdering a couple more Kings on the way.

Also, I don't think I have a screenshot, but one of my Grandsons was name Sheb II. I think it's really cool the game reuse custom names like that.

Anyway, if someone wants to rebel, the King of Italy would probably be a good bet. He's got the whole Kingdom of Italy plus 3 or 4 provinces. Also, my successor will have to decide what to do religion-wise. Most vassals are monophelites, so it's probably simpler just to stick with it until it displace orthodoxy. Of course, in the meantime, you might have to fight off a crusade. No, no, no need to thank me.

Also, with the religion change, we got two new Patriarchs.

Edit: Sliders for the Sliders God!

[==========]: Make the Vlack Count King (EuchreJack): Done. We should keep an eye if we want him to stay independent though. He already lost a couple provinces.
[==========]: Conquer Italy (BFEL): Done.
[==========]: Have Sex, Lots of Sex (BFEL): Lots of Sex was had.
[==========]: Create a Trade Republic in the North Sea/Baltic area (Sheb):0% Created a claim, invaded Gotland, and then lost 5000 cataphract retinues there and had to peace out to deal with the fallout from the religion change.
