"Is Gefreiter Nora... alright, sir? What exactly is she doing?"
"Nora seems alright, she just needs to get her head out of the clouds. I have no idea what she's doing."

March these prisoners back to the commander, as ordered.

((Sorry about the long period of silence. Getting involved in a different project plus a ever-closer period of tests and papers to deliver made got my thoughts quite messy. You can be sure this isn't dying; it's a test and I really need the data. Update coming this day.))

Turn 5: Back to Moving

Nothing worth of note seems to happen for a while as the panzergrenadiers try to resolve the prisoner matter as fast as possible before resuming their mission. Though such an early interruption is unfortunate, the fact they managed to silently subdue the enemy soldiers while securing matériel would surely be noted by their CO if only they successfully finished their assignment.

Try to communicate with the Americans.
Pay attention to sounds of movement - remain aware of my surroundings at all times.
>Be ready to help escort the prisoners to wherever we take them or stay where I am, as ordered. Try and remain in cover if the latter. Demand an explanation from Wolfgang as to who he is and what he's up to.
Check out the weaponry and equipment confiscated from the Americans.
Continue manning the machine gun.
March these prisoners back to the commander, as ordered.

Despite Nora's best attempts, the soldiers remain tight-lipped even after she returns them their rations... (6) For the most part. The first US soldier to surrender is also the only one to speak to her. Either out of sheer naiveté or confusion it's hard to tell. As his companions frown and make faces, the young soldier says they were just patrolling around the camp and are supposed to return after the next turn around the perimeter, the scouting group has a few light tanks around, his name is Henry Mills, he only studied in elementary school, etc... The Gefreiter ends up striking what amounts as small talk, which does make it look like she's getting a bit too friendly with the prisoner. After the most recent arrival (Wolfgang) quickly explains his reason to be there and displays a written permit to assist military operations as a "civilian helper of the army", Thomas and Heinkel head to the armored car with the prisoners in tow while Nora talks to Henry. Though the soldiers still don't seem too happy, there's at least some satisfaction stemming from the fact they haven't been shot or mistreated. The fact there's a female German soldier acting like Nora is does confuse them to no end. Wolfgang checks the weapons taken from the US soldiers. All of it looks to be in mind condition, something that's not unexpected having in mind how recent is USA's direct involvement in the theater of war and how they've been mass-producing all manner of military gear.
- Browning .30 machine gun (mounted on Jeep) and a long belt of .30 ammo;
- Colt M1911 pistol x3, .45 ACP magazines x3;
- M1 Garand rifle x1, clips x4;
- M1 Carbines x2, 15-round magazines x6.

Meanwhile, Commander Hans keeps his senses sharp in an attempt to discover whether anything has changed. (2+1) He can hear the sound of vehicles - half-tracks or light tanks - moving around the camp. It is hard to say how close they are to the edges or if it's heading anywhere near the passage leading to the area the rest of the squad is. The radio operator interrupts his concentration, saying the NCOIC has just informed a "civilian helper" is supposed to be delivered via motorcycle as a reinforcement to your team. His name is Euditchund Wolfgang and you are informed there is the need to watch him closely in the interest of preventing insubordination. Schultz keeps his position in the turret, aiming roughly in the direction of the soldiers and the path taking to the enemy camp. Reiner gets his tools and leaves the armored car to be a sitting duck as he heads towards the Jeep after managing to convince the rookie commander of the feasibility of his idea.

...

The prisoners are delivered, everyone is confused by the antics of the only female soldier and nothing special seems to happen. (3) The soldiers still close to the captured enemy vehicle hear, amidst the noise of soldiers being roused from sleep and resuming duties, the sound of an enemy vehicle moving far away. So far, it is not possible to tell whether it is coming towards them or if it is just skirting the edge of the camp.

((Damnit I meant to post an action to take that .30 cal))

Take that .30 cal off the jeep, and gather the ammo belt. Once the .30 cal is off the jeep bring it back, give it and the ammo to Heinkel.

"Heinkel take that gun, and find a spot on higher ground overlooking the area in and around that jeep, get set up as quick as you can and make sure neither you or the gun can be seen. We're going to give these bastards one hell of a surprise. Someone get the commander for me and tell him to start carrying out the plan, we need those AT mines and grenades not to mention we need those cars in position already."

"Aye Obergefreiter."

(Does freeshooter work with a mounted machine gun?)
Take the machine gun from the jeep and set it up hidden on high ground overlooking the clearing the jeep is in. Try to find a way to comfortably fire it without a tripod.

Grab a Colt M1911 Pistol and 2 .45 Magazines.

"Where are we headed to next? If I heard correctly, the Allies have been hoarding some precious riches, stolen and looted from the homeland. If we come across them, we get to confiscate them, correct?"

The commander begins to hum to himself to keep his spirits up - things certainly were looking dangerous around here.

Cooperate with whatever the plan was, and keep being a sensor array as before.

A good question. I'd say that it does unless you're spraying wildly. Also, that machine gun was on the Jeep's mount so no bipod or tripod for you.))

"So, any ideas?" Nora says as she returns to the forward group after bearing the information out. "Reconnaissance seems mutual around here."

The newcomer having ignored him and no-one else seeming to find the man's arrival objectionable, Thomas lowers his rifle stands around uneasily by the armoured car, peering through the trees for any sign of trouble.
He speaks up hesitantly after a moment, "I... suppose we should get back to finding the enemy car, then, yes? Or is that not the plan anymore? Are we laying a trap for them?"
He added the last part quickly as it occurred to him, not wanting to miss something obvious.

>Stand around, keeping eyes and ears open for signs of the enemy.
Be ready to follow orders (unless they're from Nora) and/or just follow the more experienced folks onwards.

"Indeed the plans have changed slightly, I need the two of you to assist in the plan I conceived, I've already got approval from the commander so Nora I want you to head to the other Armored Car and get the AT mines and any grenades they can spare please. Thomas, that's your name right? Either way I want you to come help me, grab the AT mines from our car and some wire if you can find it and follow me back to that jeep, we're laying an ambush for the enemy and we're going to need to work fast.

Once you get there Nora I want you to hand over the AT mines to me and get to work with Thomas over there setting up tripwire traps that will pull the pins of those grenades if someone walks through there. Once you two have done that get back and find a position near the cars where you can conceal yourself and prep for an ambush in case the enemy gets close, if they don't get any closer within the next thirty minutes or so after that we'll move on and leave the trap for them to find.

Oh and before I get do we have some spare fuel anywhere, I have a rather intriguing idea."
