WELL, it seems there's much more to post about than i expected

I present to you, uda feastdeaths!
Spoiler: Stats! (click to show/hide)
often a sickly child, having spent most of his youth lifting up small chert rocks and putting them back down again so he could enquire to his brothers if they ever did the same, he did swing a stick around a few times and imagine it was a sword.  He also failed to gain any social skills whatsoever in his youth.  He also used his expert dodging skills to dodge any rivers that attempted to drown him.  thusly he never learnt how to swim!

Having been able to acquire a stout bronze scimitar and copper shield, uda's quest to become the defend of lurebridges begins!
the blue dot is uda's location
oh dear, this is not an ideal starting location... Lurebridges is far to the northwest, meaning Uda will have to cross the sea to reach his goal!

Uda sets off into the wilderness to find something to try and swim in, as the local "river" doesn't even come up to his knees.
Encountering a wild boar, uda decides to try his chances with this ferocious beast, to prove his strength and manliness!  Also he's getting kind of hungry.
Sneaking up on the beast, Uda tries to cripple it with the opening strike..
easily dispatched once down, the boar makes a tasty lunch, and provides a trophy of the first creature uda has slain. Surprised how easily the boar feel it seems Uda will slay many more great beasts!

At last uda happens upon a pond.. although already somewhat coated in boar blood somehow, hopefully that means no one will complain if uda adds his share.
Spoiler: pretty hard... (click to show/hide)
it takes some time for uda to feel more confident in the water.. nevertheless, one obstacle is complete, and his quest continues!
Heading for the hamlet of silverolives, Uda is interrupted by a quite angry, yet feeble turkey.
As uda nears the hamlet a pair of figures come into view.  perhaps some friendly townspeople?
Spoiler: probably not.. (click to show/hide)
it seems bisktash was merely practicing.. or berating his underlings, as uda is yet unseen and no one moves to attack him.  Sneaking by the camp, uda notices there are too many bandits to take on alone
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
perhaps he will return with help....  He continues to silverolives!
To be continued!

This looks like fun, I'd like to join. Also, that is a ridiculous amount of bandits.

Nice!

Also, it is good that you, too, recognize the menace that is the wicked pig. I'm sure the angry ghost of my adventurer will grant you safe passage through the woods (-:

You've got 7 days, which should be more than long enough to die horribly have as much fun as possible. The quicker you can get it in the better though. We don't have too long till DF2014.

Onwards to silverolives!
I thought dingoes only came out at night?
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: oh (click to show/hide)
fear of the bogeyman does not deter uda, and he continues on fearlessly to his destination.  Upon arrival everyone is already asleep;
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
so uda figures he can just lie down and join in
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
A bit offput by the mason's passive aggresive attitude, uda secures lodging for the night.
In the morning it seems no one wants to be his meatshield for the assualt on the bandit camp, so he decides to travel north to the hamlet of virtuenotched.
On the way uda notices a door in a hillside;
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
it seems like a good idea to investigate
Spoiler: Knock knock! (click to show/hide)
his wife may be a vile monster, but although vile "Laci" doesnt seem to be much of a monster, uda easily dispatches him with his trusty bronze scimitar.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The lair unfortunately contained nothing of interest (unless you count various ground up body parts!)
Continuing on to virtuenotched uda encounters an interesting individual.  more interesting is the bronze helmet and iron breastplate he wears.  He offers the man a free swimming lesson
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
unfortunately he seems not to be able to learn as quickly as uda, fortunately uda is able to recover his shiny helmet and armor.
since no worthy companions can be found, it seems time to try and take out that bandit overlord alone!
On the way Uda encounters some more friendly boars... he attempts to start a wrestling match
Spoiler: Ouch! (click to show/hide)
but they don't wish to play fair, refusing to fight one on one, so uda pulls out the scimitar and breaks up the festivities.
Approaching the bandit camp once more, Uda sneaks up to try and find the overlord..
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
much time spent running in circles, and impromptu boar hunts by the bandits later, Uda manages to get the overlord alone, and begins sneaking up on him...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
as he approaches, the overlord notices him and immediately fires an arrow!  It strikes uda in the chest, but doesn't leave him on the ground or unconscious, so he closes the distance and cuts down his adversary!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
pausing to inspect his wounds, Uda notices breathing seems a bit hard..
Sneaking back into the now somewhat dispersed camp, Uda upgrades to an iron mail shirt, and finds a single iron boot.  All those who would bite Uda's right toes beware!
Bandit hunt behind him, Uda presses northwards, time to cross the ocean!

BONUS: two updates in one day!
Uda is indeed becoming less enamoured of boars every day
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
there are certainly compensations to fighting them however...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

A river impede's Uda's progress to the sea.  Without a thought Uda leaps in and proceeds to swim across
Spoiler: what's this?! (click to show/hide)
Beware those semi-visible sturgeon!
This is going to make it much harder to reach lurebridge...  A crutch will be necessary!
Uda sets course for the fort of scrapefated.  Along the way he finds the pathetic hole of some gloom men or something like that.  Even rolling around on the ground they are easily bisected, sadly no one they had eaten possesed a crutch.
Entering the fort, Uda proceeds to the keep, where he finds a goblin prisoner that no one seems to mind him taking with him (the blue @, uda is the + since he's a cripple now  :'()
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
No crutch is to be found in the fort, so uda decides he needs a noble escort until he's back on his feet.. or foot anyway, and enlists some of the soldiers
Spoiler: that's more like it (click to show/hide)
so Uda and friends set off on their merry way, hoping a crutch can be found beyond the sea.  Then it occurs to Uda that swimming lessons may be required for all his companions to cross... and few people survive swimming lessons..
Luckily, it turns out Uda's map was somewhat deceptive and there was indeed a land bridge across the sea!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Onwards, to the mighty city of Tallsports!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
A mighty city, the likes of which the world may never see again!  Surely they have at least one crutch to spare for Uda?
Hours of searching reveals no woodcraft shop in town, and all the general stores are filled to the brim with troll horn figurines and the like.. deciding it may not be a good idea to profane the catacombs underneath the local temple, Uda visits the keep at the centre of town.
Spoiler: Lo and behold! (click to show/hide)
although he posses a crutch, Uda is inexperienced and inept in it's use and the road back to mobility will be long and hard...

Can I get signed up? I have used to do that with my adventurers. Also, no "lair" command on DFHACK? :-( Having an adventurer retire in escondida's fortress would be awesome. Bonus points to the fact it will just irritate the dwarves and not the humans.

Added to the list.

Can we use lashes?

What?

Sadly, Uda's adventure is at an end.. in quite a boring way unfortunately :\
Laying down his weary head after a long day of learning how to crutch walk, uda's sleep is interrupted!
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
It seems none of his companions thought to stand watch, and uda himself was too tired to take any notice before his skull was smashed in
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
killed by elves.. how embarassing
will send you the save in a pm gamedragon

You're not going to build a fort? Anyway it will take me a few days to download the save because of internet woes. But rest assured the first thing I'm going to do when I get the save will be to find out about these "Hopes of Tightness" and utterly destroy them. Well after killing some pigs of course.  ;)
