Kick down the sign and hand it to the first convenient person.

Here, you look like you need a shield.

You kick the sign a couple times and it falls down. It can work as a shield, or a bludgeoning weapon, but not very well. You give it to the grumpy guy because he's closest.

"Uh... What's going on over there?  Anything interesting?  There's some kind of tripwire here.  Anyone know how to disable it?"

Carefully inspect the tripwire.  Does Jake think that he can disable it safely?
Its tied in a rather complex knot to loops on the sides of the tunnel.

Attempting to untie the knot, you somehow get both your hands completely tied up. Then the ninja who fled earlier comes back and hands you a wooden sign saying "Welcome to the Meatgrinder".

Ronald speed[19-10=9]
Boar Speed[12-5=7]
Jase speed[2-15=-13]


Get up there, meatshields!

You fall back to the spikes and begin reloading your carbine. You pour some powder into the barrel, then a lead ball, then the wadding. you are in the process of tamping it down.

Ride the boar!

((I don't want to loot the boar, I want the boar as loot.))
You stand completely still like a statue.
Boar Dex[11-5-1(Half blind)=5]
Boar str[16+5=21]
The boar charges at you, it misses you but its tusk catches on your shirt, impaling it deeply. It's gonna drag you along with it. So I guess your action to ride the boar was successful in a way.

The tripwire isn't attached anything but metal loops on the walls.

You manage to Break the tripwire with your rope dart and free Jake, despite it not even having a blade.

The boar swings its head and bashes you into a wall. you are not hurt. In fact, you are so comfortable right now that you fell asleep.

Reload!
Dex[16+4=20]
You finish reloading your gun perfectly. Then you pour some powder in the flash pan, wind the wheel, cock it, and you're ready to shoot.
(By the way, you can't reload your gun with one hand. Wikipedia says you can ready and fire it with one hand, but readying is not the same thing as loading.)

The boar is looking down the tunnel again, and there is a thick black smoke coming from its nostrils.

The boar breathes a small jet of fire at Ronald.

He is burned pretty bad. Not life threatening or crippling, but it will give him a -1 to most rolls.

You step over the spikes, and make it to the end of the tunnel just as the fire stops.

Whack the boar over the head.

You charge the boar and give it a rather pathetic glancing blow with the butt of your carbine.

It doesn't care at all.

The great spirit of the hog comes to you in your sleep. It squeals and snorts and oinks, and you understand what it says. It says that the boar is too proud an animal to ever be tamed, but it may be possible to gain its friendship. There is something it seeks deeper in the dungeon.
