~~~~Prologue: Prison Break~~~~
Strohnban Prison's Entry Port. Prophets have been arrested in Ixion and imprisoned not long after the predictions started. One of these prophets has been taken by boat to the port where the Strohnban Warden oversees their imprisonment.
The Warden stands on the pier while a young man in robes steps off the boat escorted by a guard.
: Ah, let's see what we have here... The Warden takes a look at the notes that the ship guard gave him. Another "prophet"? Bah, I thought after the first twenty or so, people would stop being such lunatics.
: ...
: Anyways, take him to the first crappy cell you find. Come on, get the hell out of my sight.
There you go! Have fun while you can, he he he he...
The guard pushes the robed man inside the cell, where he gets stuck in a... "pot".
: Oof!
: Ew, gross. The man looks around, peeking through the bars of the door as much as he can. Hey! Hey, can you hear me?
//Isbilya Baetica, Harlan Coronas, Tomik Cizek, Senija Cizek, Lillian Rose, Clare Redwing and Albert Rudolph are in!
"♪ They said guilty so many times ♫ All I heard were just the buzzing flies ♪ As sure as lead sinks we're the same ♫ We're just more laundry that they need to hang ♪ We won't be sleeping in our Autumn beds ♫ No, we won't be sleeping ♪ We won't be sleeping in our Autumn beds "
The bard sang quietly to herself as she picked up pebbles from her sitting position and flung them against the far wall. Prison songs weren't exactly cheery, but even if they took her freedom (and her guitar) they couldn't take her voice from her. She continued to hum as she heard the guard open another cell and, presumably, throw a prisoner in judging from the loud clanging, which was quickly followed by a man yelling. She stood and moved to the bars.
"I hear you. I'm in the next cell over. My name's Lilly, what's yours?"
"Er, well, no, but I know my way around a guitar - if I can get mine back. I'm a bard by trade, you see, and I have a touch of magic. My music is known to invigorate others, so... if you're planning 'something' I could help out that way."
Hearing a vioce she didn't recognize, Clare spoke up.
"Hello. I presume you're new here, yes?"
"Er, well, the guy in the cell across from me, Tomik I think, he looks like a guy that's been in a few fights. I don't wanna speak for anyone though. Maybe some of them like it here. I don't. I'm completely on board with any way to get out of these four walls. I'm losing my mind here."
At that point, Clare, the woman in the cell on the other side of Mason spoke up, and Lilly decided to quiet down and hear what she had to say.
"A new guest? Want to play I spy? Nobody here wants to play I spy. It can get so boring..."
Isbilya walked closer to the bars, trying to see the new prisoner. She looked a bit excited when she heard what he was talking about.
"What are you talking about? Is it fun? Can I be a part of it? Pleaaaaaaaaaase."
: That's good. I just got here, but since I have a bit of prisonphobia, I need you to help me escape this prison today. I don't care why you're here, after this is done, you can all be as free as you want.
"No, yeah, freedom sounds good. Hey, wake up guys!"
Lillian picked up some of the pebbles and flung them at the bars of the three other cells she could get an angle on, then turned her attention back to Mason.
"Er, you do have a plan, right? Because I mean I don't know if we can break out of here without any equipment, let alone unarmed."
: That's why we have to be quick. I overheard that big guy with the china bowl head, and it seems that the boat that brought me here will be staying here for a while.
: They mafe the mistake of assuming that I've always been a prophet. That's why I was able to swipe a couple keys from one of them.
: As for weapons... There must be a room where they keep all their extra weapons and confiscated stuff. They didn't take my book until we arrived, so it must be somewhere here in the prison.
"You have the cell keys?!"
Lillian looked around nervously.
"Man I hope the rest of the guys are wanting to escape. The guards'll probably catch on soon so we don't have much time for you to get to use those keys."
Harlan heard the pebble bounce off the bars of his cell door. He stayed in the shadows, refusing to come near the door. He spoke in a low voice, not quite a whisper.
: "You've been singing for the past two hours, ma'am. I doubt anyone's asleep."
He opened his eyes and stared at the newcomer.
: "Welcome to our little slice of heaven, stranger. Nice job with the keys, but I wouldn't get your hopes of freedom up just yet. Just about every other newcomer has some grand escape plan. Care to guess how many succeed?"
