Move to N9. Order Josephine and Thomas Short to move again. Post IC stuff later so that you don't hold up the game even more.

Jo pulls the trigger again. Another brass casing spins away to land in the grass.
Code: (Jo vs Sectoid A) [Select]
To hit : 65+ 10 - 12 = 63
Roll: 61, hit
To crit: 5
Roll: 93, no crit
Damage: (6 to 14)= 14 -2 = 12
Sectoid A is killed!

The shot bursts through the sectoid, sending it spinning face down to the ground. It twitches a few times and lies still, half hidden by the foliage between the operatives and the alien.

Bronze Shark - Turn 1 Alien Activity

More aliens emerge. A basketball-sized sphere of floating metal, lights glowing a bright blue, zooms out from the forest. It stops abruptly, and turns a crackling energy discharge onto Daniel.

Code: (Drone A vs Daniel William) [Select]
To hit: 85+6-15-9 = 84
Roll: 14, hit
Crit: 1
Roll: 2 //hnnng so close
Dam: (10 to 14) - (5/4) = 13 - 1 = 12

The burst of energy washes over the demolitions man, leaving him reeling back with burn already blistering on his face and arms.

Something rustles behind the trees - unseen activity gives way to a pair of sectoids pushing through the bush. However, these have a difference to their fallen fellow - a nimbus of purple energy seems to flow around their heads, tendrils reaching out from one further back to the one closer. That same closer one turns it's arm gun towards the already injured Daniel.

To hit: 85+9-9+15+15 = 115, autohit
Crit: 2
Roll: 28, no crit
Dam: (14 to 18) - (5/4) = 16 - 1 = 15

This second burst of plasma is too much for Daniel, who topples backwards with only a short scream, unconscious and bleeding out. The short grey alien chitters in victory.

Daniel William is bleeding out! 3 turns remaining!

Josephine scanned the perimeter and sighted two new creatures--in the lighting, hard to comprehend due to their pallid skin tone and the distance, as well as her knowledge of their anatomy. They were like walking nightmares, though they could be downed.

"Two in the green, one in the open. I'll provide cover fire. There can't be that many out there."

Move to P9; fire at drone!

The team returned fire at the monsters that downed their comrade.

Jo delivers a shot to the drone, but the unknown metal of its construction takes little damage from the high caliber round.

Taylor dashes up and sprays a burst at one of the bipedal aliens. Undeterred, it shoots back.

Sectoid B returns fire!

Even as the sectoid bleeds green blood into the ground, the return plasma fire lashes out at the infantry. Despite its wounds, and unlike the other sectoid, this one stands tall and straight, that purple light glowing in its eyes. It turned as Thomas sprinted in with shotgun ready.

Dam: (4 to 14) - 2 = 8 - 2 - 2 = 4 x 3 = 12
Sectoid B is killed!

Even after the shotgun roars and disintegrates the alien's face, it stands, only collapsing once the purple light, with an audible snap and crackle, breaks up and disappears. The creature tumbles onto its missing face without a sound. The other alien cackles its rage to the night air.

Anton ignores the gunfire, running to his downed comrade and pulling out his medkit.

Move over the dead sec' at M12 and fire on the other sectoid

Mordeci saw the bolts of plasma, and the slim trails left by the bullets piercing the stagnant air, and charged forward with his head down before rushing through the foliage.

He tried to think of something witty to say, but decided his gun was more eloquent.

"Dead and gone!" Thomas declared, eying the second sectoid. For a brief moment, he wasn't sure he'd killed the first one- Nor did he understand what was happening with the purple light.
