I have finished digging out the coffin and slab area. The area to the left is for engraved slabs.

Limestone 9th
Dwarven cavern with an Outpost Liaison has arrived. Time for some appropriately sized armor/weapons.

After some fierce trading, I took all their food, booze, cheese, picks, anvils, weapons, and armor for 30 masterwork spiked wooden balls. Seriously, they love my masterwork balls.

The Liaison ask me what I want. I ask for more booze, seeds, and food. He gives me his demands:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
They must really want my wood. And gems are truly, truly outrageous. Note for future overseers: Se how they like hard, wood spear shafts.

Mini-Mega-Project going slow. May not be done by the end of the year. I can only hope.

The purple overseer hat weights heavily on one's head. Some would argue that the leadership of Doomforest is uneasy to bear for too long. Others would simply suggest that we don't craft the next overseer hat out of rutile.

Looks like its going well. Also, how exactly do you make leather spikes, to put on your shield to be menacing?

Just boil the leather hard and cut it to shape.

Sandstone the 9th:
A planter gets possessed. He claims a mechanics workshop. Time for an artifact traction bench?

Sandstone 15th
Just kidding. He made a Chert artifact mechanism. It has some very nice artwork on it.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Sandstone 21st
More Migrants. I think that the population has doubled since my turn began. I have recruited a few promising dwarves into the militia, bring the total militia 6 dwarves. To future Overseers, please leave that 1 dwarf as a wrestler. I have high hopes for him.

Timber 25th
Finished Mini-Mega-Project. I will post a picture of it when it is finished filling. Also discovered other caverns, but that is slightly less important.

Moonstone 1st.
Winter has arived

A troglodyte got in to the fort via an unsealed entrance. I am testing the militia against it.

I guess that my militia worked well.

26th Moonstone
After much searching, I find the 3rd Cavern Level.

I am of 2 opinions of this: 1), "Finally found it". 2) Carp, I found the ground floor.

Opal 4th
Great news. 2nd metal I have found, after Zinc. Still haven't found magma yet. Dare I risk digging it?

I dare.

The bet payed off.

I think that I found magma. Praise Armok

Opal 19th.
Woodcutter has tree fall on him. Hie foot exploded in every direction. It was quite the splatter. He is currently resting in the hospital.

Opal 28th

Another mood. It must be my presence that inspires them. I expect good things SkiaMechanic

Obsidian 5th

Only worth 4800 Ursts. Oh well, good attempt.

Nothing else really important happened. I paused it when spring started.

And my 2 level Mini-Mega-Project: the log room. If this fills, we can safely seal of from the surface without running out of wood for a long time. Also was made to show elves for moral purposes.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Notes for the next looser Overseer:
1) The only metals are zinc and Adamantine. Have a blast with that.
2) Remember to finish flooring over the dirt floors.
3) Remember the Masterwork wooden Balls and Hard spearShafts.

Will post save soon.

Looks good! That artifact weapon rack is a bit disappointing but at least it wasn't a bracelet or something. It'll still give happy thoughts.

I have an inherent dislike for surface forts though. I like to settle deep in the ground. The top level is making me all twitchy.     :P

I usually build deeper forts too, but there were all these nice rooms to put workshops in...

I just remembered. For the next overseer, remember that the militia needs armour. They have some, but not enough. The adamanitum is there. Be careful.
If you don't like the elves, I think that the militia can kill them all with no problems (Or at least, the hammerdwarf can).

Other things
No water, no metal, but flux stone. Truly this is ironic.

I've put the region2 folder into my saves folder, but when I boot up DF, the only option is my other world?

It just tested it and it works fine for me. Did you make sure to unzip it first?
