Take a screenshot, upload it to imgur.com.  There should be a little dropdown box for each image that gives you a series of options.  Select the one that says BBCode and copy-paste the text you see into your forum post.

Welcome to the forums, I hope you enjoy your stay.  I sure have.

Journal of Gwolfski Nishthinthad

We have arrived at our location. Having left our mountainhome because of a petty argument with the absolute idiot and brain-dead elf-loving tree fondler our "glorious" king.

No problem at all.

It'll actually be pretty refreshing to watch this proceed, since most of the fortresses nowadays seem to only get attention if they have a complicated story or involve modding or whatnot.

We have under taken the construction of the fort.
We dug the entry way and made a stockpile for our staring goods. We are now hollowing out an area for the workshops. There are some hippos in the area and i do hope it will not be similar to the lost fortress of boatmurderd!

On imagure, while editing pictures, you can change the resolution, and make pictures smaller.

For saves: email may work, but I think that dffd would be better. It's a site just for transferring Saves (after they are compressed): http://dffd.bay12games.com/
Most games have a limit of "2 days to accept fort, 2 more for first update, 1 week to work on it (Extensions pending good writing), and always stop in the spring."
About dorfing: what do you do is someone else asks to be dorfed?
When making Journals: It is concidered bad form to span 15 replies for 1 season. I personally try to use only 4 replies: 1 for each season. Editing is your friend, especially if you want to report things as they happen.

Also, may I have year 3 (Not 2, nothing interesting ever happens in year 2)

The purple overseer hat weights heavily on one's head. Some would argue that the leadership of Doomforest is uneasy to bear for too long. Others would simply suggest that we don't craft the next overseer hat out of rutile.

some tome later

We have completed the croc defense system!
Also, our miner reached stone! can make some forges/smelters, charcoal and glass!

I have also ordered an office to be built (for me, of course)

-----

We have a farm system now, or at least the start of one. I am building an elaborate last-resort area. I have also ordered an organized water source to be created.

-----

The traders and outpost liaison have arrived. I had a trade depot build immediately. The water source has been completed but Reg the miner got washed away. We will remember you. some more plans and the import agreement:

A dwarf has got a strange mood but he ain't getting a workshop. It is winter now. i am building a reservoir for future water needs.

If you start a militia, could you dwarf me as it's commander? Job title should be "minion".

I will take year two. I promise not to destroy anything. Unless it really needs it :3

You should add screenshots to your journals, it makes them that much more interesting!

The crew of Doomforests blesses you with its presence, my friend. Le Grand Soaper has arrived to cleanse the sorry souls of the dwarves in year four! No garentee I'll actually be utilizing the Psycho-family's soap recipe in this fort, though. Not unless you REALLY want some soap action to happen here.

Our forward thinking overseer at the time devised a way in which werebeasts can live in peace with other dwarves by utilizing the mysterious magical properties of soap!
