Name: Naoto Arisato. His
Great Knight-type Gunmen is called the
Knightbraver.
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Sex: Male
Appearance:Naoto:
Naoto is of relatively average height for his age, albeit with a somewhat muscled build from bearing the load of a Gunmen and weapons. His looks are above-average, but not necessarily all that noticeable from afar. Outside of using his Gunmen, he wears a light, ivory-colored tunic and russet trousers, along with a chainmail hauberk to help cushion the blows to Knightbraver. His eyes are a light green, and his hair is rather messy from spending long periods wearing Knightbraver. Around his neck hangs his Core Drill, attached to an easily detachable Soul Metal necklace, which constantly pulses a faint green, glowing brighter when he uses it to put the Knightbraver Gunmen on. To summon his Gunmen, Naoto raises his Core Drill to the sky, twisting it in a manner resembling him opening a lock, opening a portal into a Spiral Dimensional Space where the Gunmen is stored and lowers onto Naoto to put itself on.
Knightbraver:
Knightbraver is a Gunmen cobbled together from the chassis of a
Hero-type Gunmen, judging from its sleek, agile body. However, the armor plating on the body has been ripped from spare
Knight-type Gunmen, increasing durability around the armor in general. The armor has been painted a bright red, causing Knightbraver to stand out among other, more generic Gunmen.
Personality: Naoto is rather protective of his allies, with a boisterous and loud personality during battle. He believes heavily in loyalty and courage, with his philosophy summed up in the words 'My life burns bright!' and 'Who the hell do you think I am?!'. However, he has a sweet side outside battle, often being rather chivalrous as befits a knight, and is rather awkward around women he finds attractive.
Backstory: Long ago, in the mists of history, there were extradimensional beings called the Anti-Spiral, beings who desired to restrain the power of the Spiral- fighting spirit and the drive to evolve- from an unfounded fear that it would cause the destruction of the world when overused. To that end, they restrained the human race, using proxies called Beastmen, humanoid beast-hybrids equipped with bestial suits of armor made from Soul Metal, capable of being shaped according to their wearer's will; this came at the cost of threatening to overwhelm their wearers if they did not have sufficient control over themselves. These suits of armor were called Gunmen, powered by the dark magicks possessed by their masters; with the ability to summon this armor to their side at any time, and the impossibility of fighting a warrior so equipped, humanity was defeated easily, forced off of the surface to keep them from using the power of the Spiral. For millennia, humanity suffered, unable to fight against such power, forced into the underground where they toiled and struggled to survive. They forgot the power of the Spiral, and so the Anti-Spirals were assured of their victory.
Eventually, however, a band of warriors broke through to the surface, stealing Gunmen, where they discovered once more the power of fighting spirit and the drive to improve eternally- the power of the Spiral. Taking the Gunmen for their own and powering them with the power of Spirals, these warriors took the fight towards their Anti-Spiral overlords and overthrew them with their own devices, the remaining Beastmen who survived by defecting forming enclaves of their own in the reclaimed world. Humanity took the Gunmen armors for their own, crafting more for themselves in the form of armors with many faces; used in memory of the original Gunmen stolen by the warriors who had broken the tyranny, which formed into many-faced suits of armor upon their new wearers. For a time, humanity was united as it was during the Spiral War-as it became known- and rebuilt the world from the hell it had become.
Over time, however, humanity, disagreeing with each other, broke apart into factions and then nations, taking the Gunmen for their own on the way, developing it further, forming Gunmen in the shapes of creatures such as horses and drakes to be ridden by their warriors and honing the art of Gunmen crafting, the Soul Metal used to forge them found in vast quantities left behind or easily alloyed, forming many different types of Gunmen. These nation-states grew stronger, with armies of Gunmen-wearing warriors. Eventually, these different nations began to wage wars over land and complicated matters of politicking and scheming, their collective spirit forgotten save for the use of Spiral Power in their warring, as humanity split apart into different factions and alliances. Beastmen, who possessed little Spiral Power, retreated further, hated in many lands due to having served the Anti-Spirals and using Gunmen that took the form of animals to defend themselves, forms such as wolves, rabbits and foxes. Some of the more draconic Beastmen forged strong, invincible Gunmen in the shape of dragons; they became known as Manaketes, and, living long due to a quirk of their biology, they almost disappeared into legend, assumed to have died out.
Legend has it that the finder of the original Gunmen worn by the great warrior who had led humanity to overthrow the Anti-Spiral- who had disappeared at the end of the war to parts unknown- shall unite the world once more in its most desperate hour, leading humans and Beastmen alike against an insurmountable monster, threatening to destroy the world, and be granted immense power by the Spiral Power stored in this armor. This Gunmen, long since lost and only recorded in ancient scripts pored over by the elders of various kingdoms, has long since been dubbed the 'Fire Emblem', named for the flame-patterns on the Gunmen's pauldrons and known by many names; the Seal of Flames or the Sacred Seal being among them.
However, to this day, the Fire Emblem has remained hidden, and no adventurer or bandit has ever found its whereabouts.
....
The Grand Duchy of Ashikaga claims descent from the Spiral Warriors who fought the Anti-Spirals, with the current Duchess Kazahana being a direct descendant of the Spiral Warrior who once wore the Fire Emblem. The Duchy lies on the border between the Kingdoms of Ritone and Deplin, with a moderately-sized army to defend Ashikaga from invaders, employing Gunmen heavily; in particular, they are known for their Cavalier-type Gunmen, mounted on the backs of Gunmen in the shape of horses to attack their opponents.
The young Naoto aspired to be one of these Cavaliers, as a young boy working in his father's forge. His father was one of the royal family's contracted smiths who made Gunmen for the royal guard; indeed, it was on one particular visit Naoto met the young Kazahana and spoke with her. After several meetings over the course of several visits, Naoto resolved to become a Cavalier to protect the young Duchess; in those times, there were many people who sought the seat of power in Ashikaga by any means necessary. Forging a Gunmen from an old frame and taking parts from other Gunmen, the young man forged the custom Gunmen
Knightbraver and the Mount Gunmen
Ridebraver and joined the army, educating himself as a Cavalier and managing to reach the rank of Great Knight.

Actions: (Your attacks and abilities. these can be Magical, Melee, or Ranged and use the relevant stat. (Synergy for Magic, Strength for Melee, Dexterity for Ranged). 0/10
Basic Attack: Lance Attack
Basic Defense: Spiral Shield, blocking attacks for RESx1.5.
Dual Guard: Naoto designates an ally as a
Protectorate at the beginning of the battle. For the rest of that battle, that ally takes x0.95 damage from non-piercing attacks. Each time the ally is damaged (counting multihit Actions as multiple times), the
Guard Gauge fills up by 1 and each time the ally or Naoto attacks (not counting Actions that hit multiple times), the Gauge fills up by .5. When the Guard Gauge is at 5, Naoto will block a single attack, even those attacks that would normally pierce all defenses, entirely for that
Protectorate, negating the damage to both himself and the ally regardless of whether or not the damage would pierce defenses; however, the effects of
Dual Guard are negated for two turns and neither taking damage nor attacking will fill the Gauge up. Two turn cooldown for the active, after which the Gauge can fill up again. [Equivalent Skill: Dual Guard] [Level 3]
- Level 2: x0.9 damage.
- Level 3: x0.85 damage.
Armored Warrior:
Knight and
Cavalier-type Gunmen are resistant to physical damage, by nature of their use to take blows for weaker allies, and Naoto's
Knightbraver is no different. Naoto takes 5% less damage from non-piercing attacks. This does not apply against defense-piercing attacks. Passive. [Equivalent Skill: Armored Blow] [Level 3]
- Level 2: 10% less damage.
- Level 3: 15% less damage.
Provoke: Naoto directs the enemy's attention to himself with a loud taunt. A
Provoked enemy directs their attack that turn to Naoto instead. Two turn cooldown. Naoto cannot Provoke the same opponent consecutively. Active [Equivalent Skill: Provoke] [Level 3]
- Level 2:
Blunted Fury: Enemies who attack Naoto while
Provoked also have a -10% damage penalty next turn. This penalty cannot be applied consecutively.
- Level 3: Enemies who attack Naoto while
Provoked have a -15% damage penalty.
Heaven's Shield: Naoto temporarily channels Spiral Energy into his shield before taking action, increasing his total RES by x1.2. If his
Guard Gauge is full, Naoto can also consume all of the Guard Gauge to negate the next attack against himself instead for the same effect as an activation of
Dual Guard has. Two turn cooldown. [Equivalent Skill: Pavise]
- Level 2: x1.25 RES.
Spiral Regeneration: Naoto's Gunmen is powered by the power of Spirals, allowing it to regenerate damage done to the suit during battle. Naoto restores 5% of his maximum HP per turn. Passive. [Equivalent Skill: Good Fortune] [Level 3]
- Level 3: 10% of maximum HP restored.
Solar Burst:
Hero-type Gunmen possess a special pendant forged into their Gunmen that allow their Gunmen to repair their own damage with damage dealt to enemies, using the wearer's fighting spirit to convert kinetic energy to Spiral Power.
Solar Burst restores 10% of the damage dealt to Naoto. [Equivalent Skill: Sol]
Dismount: Naoto comes with a Gunmen called
Ridebraver, which grants him bonuses depending on if he is mounted or not as well as granting him penalties. Naoto can dismiss Ridebraver, dismounting at the cost of penalties and bonuses from Ridebraver, and can
Mount to summon his mount again. Takes up one turn.
