While that would be interesting I'd actually feel kind of uncomfortable if somebody made Adolf Hitler as their character.

Not real!Hitler, painter!Hitler who didn't fight in WWI and thus isn't screwed up by the bomb that kill all but him in the trench(If I'm remembering his history right. I know he was a solo survivor of something.)

Plus he doesn't have to be a focus point, an mere background npc sort of deal.

Fully freeform would be easier on you, but having a system give the players a sense of agency. Depends on which one more important.

Well, I suppose that things will be freeform, but players are allowed to impose rules on themselves since just like how it is with freeform RPs I'll probably stop looking at it and just let you guys do your own thing so long as it doesn't break the lore I had in mind.

First thing, in or out? In mean the power come from within and we are thus cyborgs or out which mean mecha-lite suits.

The idea was that the magical girls have actual magic which augment their laser guns and jetboots.

Also their tech are just plain futuristic, not dieselpunk. They're alien tech. Though they might be modified occasionally to blend in.

Alternatively, the Pleiades tech are built around magic to augment them. So a magical girl has her own magic weapon, but she can create it from modifying Pleiadian weaponry or, in desperate situations, from human weapons.

So less Twintails(Tools with magic in them) more Nanoha(Inward magic with tools to boost) favoured magic system.

I'm cool with a Nanoha-type magic system. It certainly sounds pretty neat, and would mean that we could use magic 'naturally' too. Just not as powerfully without fancy alien technology backing it up. Like mechsuits. _{Especially mechsuits.}
