“Oh, please. I'm not a nightmare... for you.”
-Marie Hel, Staff Psychologist at REDACTED
Name: Marie Hel
Age: ?
Gender: Female?
Race: Literally a nightmare.
“What? Oh come on. I didn't even call them man-children taking out their frustration through thinly-justified human rights violations!"
Description: (pictures welcome) ImageNot actually Okuu. Sorry. No nuclear eyes. Or wings. OR big red third eye thing. But she does have pretty pale skin, and dark hair, and wears a classy black-and-white suit that wouldn't be out of place in the 20s, complete with fedora for tipping wildly before it goes out of fashion. Her eyes are a nice, deep blue, at odds to her skin and hair, and she carries herself with an air of consummate professionalism, though the latter is hardly unusual for spies.
What is unusual, however, is her left half. By all appearances, it seems perfectly normal- however, this is just an illusion. Various forms of True Sight will reveal that the left 50% (straight down the middle) of her body is in fact a rotted, necrotic zombie-like form, melding sharply with her apparently-living right half. Her left eye is actually a bloody red, though her hair remains much the same. Even when she applies shapeshifting, this left-right duality remains, although usually with small differences in detail. And neither shapeshifting nor illusion can hide the texture of her skin. There's a reason she wears clothes that cover most of her body, after all.
Backstory:As far as anyone knows, she just... showed up one day. Caught a spy almost by accident, then got drafted into the CIA for security reasons after managing to impressively outplay her interrogators and at the same time prove herself not a Red Spy. Her psychological skills netted her a cozy desk job and the willingness to overlook her lack of a background, especially given that all she really does is advise on things. Many many things. Her degree is forged, and notably not listed on any records- however, her expertise is not. While her psychology skills have landed many a lead, she's not all that popular. People don't like her reports on the blatant overuse of torture as an interrogation technique, or her constant internal criticisms of the CIA's tactics that seem to be more motivated by the Red Scare than any rational plan to combat the USSR, or her willingness to criticize all these
man-children sophisticated spies and field agents from the safety of her desk and the occasional (well, actually fairly common) venture into interrogation chambers. Really, what do they even pay her for, chopped liver?

Ability: Fear me! Or don't. Obviously her abilities revolve around people being scared. Marie can gain Vaguely Defined Power from the local fears, using it to heal up and become physically stronker and whatnot. Mostly heal up and maybe energize a bit, though. Alternatively, she can Devour fear outright, gaining a lot more power but using up the fear and leaving the person not feeling quite so bad.
She can also:
1: Shapeshift, theoretically. In practice, physics and reality doesn't like her doing this, and she reserves it largely for dreamland.
2: Cast illusions, at least on her self. The illusion to hide her true form is basically always on unless she willingly turns it off, but she is more or less incapable of performing any OTHER illusions.
3: Sneak into people's dreams. She can do this to someone she's right next to for free, or bank up some power in order to mess with someone who's far away. Good for getting fear without getting into trouble. Not as good for information gathering as you might think. Dreams tend to be pretty abstract and emotional.

totally got 35 points first try by complete accidentPerks: Being a nightmare, she knows a lot about what makes the mind tick- and she's had a lot of time to learn more. Given a moment to study a person's behavior, she can usually figure out how to make them run screaming or break down crying. (At least for NPCs. Less so for PCs
because PCs operate in some fucking weird mental states.)
Inventory: A fake, folding plastic scythe, so she can pretend to be the Grim Reaper.
Classified documents to leak to her mistress. Wait, what?
She's no gun nut, nor privy to the most exotic of spy gadgets, but she is still a member of the Central Intelligence Agency, and prudence dictates she arm herself. Looks like she caries around an M1911 or derivative. Did they need gun licenses in the 60s? Probably, I suppose. If they have such things, she has one. Might have even earned it legitimately. Shocking, I know.
