Name: Chaos Theory?
Age: He doesn't even know. Powers do weird things, and spending time in a void that doesn't seem to interact with physics properly fucks with how old you are pretty badly.
Gender/Sex: Male probably. He thinks he is, anyway.
Description: A rather tall... man? Honestly, it's impossible to tell whether he's even human or not at this point. He's fairly tall at 6'9", and covered from head to toe in vaguely futuristic-looking spacesteel armor, made out of several plates and sections that is, at the same time, surprisingly flexible. Or maybe that's his skin. Who knows? His face is covered in a helmet that doesn't reveal anything save for his glowing green eyes, and, save for those eye holes, is completely featureless. He also wears a bright red longcoat that's sometimes tied around his neck like a cape and sometimes worn like a regular coat.
Personality: Chaos Theory is very stubborn and set in his beliefs, even if he doesn't have that many to be set in at this point. He's also slightly delusional. What he thinks is happening and what is actually happening are often two entirely different things, not helped by the fact that his perspective is
heavily coloured by whatever powers he has at the time. He treasures both his powers and his coat dearly, and either one of them coming to harm is one of the few absolutely guaranteed ways to set him off. He's also prone to completely missing things or otherwise drifting off and not paying attention to much of anything.
Those traits combined do mean one thing, however: once he decides on a course of action, it's nigh impossible to get him to stop, not helped by how hard it is to put him down for good.
He does also seem to care about helping others, to a point. He will help others, sometimes selflessly, but unlike other personality traits this one comes and goes as quickly as a lot of his powers tend to.
Backstory: Chaos Theory... doesn't remember, really. He's been around so long in that weird not-void, fighting the weird not-void things because, at that point, it was the only thing he
could do, that he doesn't even remember a time before it. A year, ten, one hundred, maybe one thousand? He's unable to even guess, really.
He does know he's been fighting the shadowy things with glowy eyes of all colours for a long, long time though, for long stretches at a time followed by brief rest periods. Why they disappeared temporarily before reappearing, he's not sure. Maybe they needed to replenish their numbers? It doesn't matter to him. Those brief times of reprieve were welcome all the same and, well, if they were because he was making a nice big dent in their numbers? So much the better.
What Chaos Theory doesn't know is that there
was something before his time in the void. Friends, a family, adventure... He was a hero. A celebrated one, well-know in a fairly large part of the world. It couldn't last, though. One day, strange shadowy creatures started appearing out of nowhere, sowing chaos all over the land. Unable to drive them back properly, they found the source instead. Chaos Theory dove into the hole in reality, closing it behind him at the same time, and has been fighting since then.
He remembers none of this, unfortunately(?).
Other: At any given moment, Chaos Theory has three randomly chosen powers from
Superpower Wiki(not like he knows the source, though). These can be switched out manually for a new power, but often they switch at completely arbitrary times all on their own. He's also capable of granting other people a single, temporary and equally random power which lasts for a completely arbitrary amount of time. This has the chance of replacing one of their own abilities for the duration, though the replaced ability comes back once the power dissipates. The stronger a power, however, the more limited in scope it becomes, the shorter its duration and the more actual physical injury it will cause to Chaos Theory should he decide to use it. Powers like Omnipotence, Omniscience etc. are automatically rerolled and can't be used.
Other than this, Chaos Theory is also immune to the effects of things like air deprivation, starvation, dehydration, depressurisation etc. though, obviously, cutting off his arm or slicing right through a tendon will immobilize him for a time, and a decent hit to the head will probably kill him.
He's made of solid spacesteel, which, naturally, makes him pretty damn durable, and has a supply of what seem to be nanomachines that heal damage done to him, if at a somewhat slow pace. Still, they'll usually keep him alive for a nice long time. Unfortunately, the nanites and armor both make him extremely vulnerable to electricity, and the nanites can be completely destroyed with a decent EMP pulse and similar things.
Oh, also he has a futuristic-looking handgun that never runs out of ammo. Neat, that.
