Before I start proposing strategies I'd like to know what are people's production plans are (I'm terrible at creating those) how much new infantry equipment can we make while equipping our new viper? Also we need to get our reason for war propaganda into the core thread thread by the end of the turn. Since no one else has posted anything I think I'll probably throw my speech from here up there in a while unless there are any objections.

So... what if we have our new viper and the transport and 2 escorts go to blackstone (1 movement) and the viper at three captains go to blackstone (1 movement) to form a fleet of two vipers and two skiffs and 2 transports.

We can ask that one of the transports carries the re-syncing equipment with them to supply the viper.

Then the whole fleet does one more move, back to the three captains. (1 move)

This super reinforces the three captains and will let our vipers protect each other.

I do not like this plan. It involves leaving the TC exposed for enemy marine landings for a time. I do not want them to have the chance to deploy more field guns to that spire. Also there is at least two enemy skiffs nosing around our back line. If it was me controlling them I'd argue for sending them to Blackstone in the hopes of catching a troop filled transport moving to reinforce the TC (though Wreth tactics aren't certain to be logical). However if the two skiffs catch the full fleet gathered at Blackstone since combat stops movement this could leave our entire force out of position and our marines extremely exposed to enemy reinforcements.

Sorry I'm a bit late to the thread. I've started reading up on my Lord Arc history, which someone forgot to mention was fuckin 500+ pages long, with everyone and their dog posting a dozen fluff stories every page. Still, good stuff. I also watched RWBY for the context on that, and that was pretty good too.

Anyways, I don't think they would risk sending a transport until they can reliably take on our viper. The real risk here is of another reinforcement fleet showing up and killing our viper before our reinforcements arrive. ( Their ships are faster than ours, remember?)

The last report was that the lack of ambush tactics was ceiling to our fleet. Knowing they don't have a transport here right now, I say we put our viper in hunter killer mode. If we get the drop on them and kill even one ship, that makes it 2 to one odds, which our viper should win handily. Then we can either pull back to Blackstone, or await the enemy reinforcements, which are probably only 2 skiffs.

Major problems I see is the desperate amount of ore we have, yeah we totally need to prioritize getting that crystal since it's so hard to get, who needs ore and metal alloys when were overflowing with this stuff? With the resources we have I see difficulty in outfitting our Viper into even average performance and outfitting another squad of marines.

Here's how my strategy goes out, Viper Serpentis goes back for updated gear, and Viper Anguis performs patrol+escort duty to the Hive and then to Blackstone. Vipers on Close Aggressive, Skyskiffs on Ambush.

Oh perfect, 3 crystals can be expended on improving the ship to great maneuverability performance then. My strategy still applies, just with a better Viper.

Seeing as our opponents haven't upgraded their infantry armour at all, I'd suggest switching out that witch Hunter crossbow for two sets of aether gauntlets.  Both squads will then get a ranged weapon and it will keep the Wrethi on their toes about which weapon to produce armour against.

Since I don't like leaving our troops exposed I'm proposing this plan. Now it is unlikely that they'll try and land troops this turn but you never know. Also this should be better at stopping further skyskiffs from sneaking behind us. I fully expect the enemy skyskiffs who have already snuck behind us to move to Blackstone this turn. We've seen them so staying were they are is suicide for them and Blackstone is the only place they know they might catch and kill a transport. But that's only if they catch our transport unguarded, I don't think they will expect a second Viper so soon.

With the rate we're burning through ore it was absolutely the right choice to go to the TC but I worry about how much longer it'll take them to secure the Unfinished. Ideally the loses of transports will stop them from reinforcing and any loses they've taken from fighting native resistance might have slowed them down. But in war it is never wise to bet on such things. We need to get intel on what the situation is over there. How many marine units are there? Are there ships clustering around the spire? Next turn we'll need some sort of scouting tactic. Leaving the Unfinished ignored for too long will I suspect bite us in the ass.

There is a certain cold logic to that plan but I'd rather not send unarmed men marching to their death and since this is the turn we're supposed to convince the public to back this war it could backfire politically.
