If we're gonna be sending in squads, I'd rather it be a full squad of 16 rather than 25% of a squad. We can hold onto them and merge them into a surviving squad after the Ground Fight.
For some reason I derped and thought we had way less marines than we do. The max we can send alongside the mobile cover is 8, so we should send 8. Fixing it.
I feel like we should use only the Jupiter and natalies to escort, let the other vipers fight.

Our ships will be impaired by lack of comms and this concerns me.

Most of our tactics rely on communications.

Why can't we run comm officers again?

EDIT: As in, what would we have to cut.

Barring more options, voting for Aftershock.

As for the colony ship, I think we shouldn't send it without some kind of escort, and right now we need all ships at blackstone.

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

Quote from: Operation Hurricane
Production:
-32 Topaz Grenades (2c 2o)
-2 topaz pistols (2c 2o 2w)
-1 topaz VS core (3c)
-1 topaz S core (6c)

-1 S lift (3c 2o)
-6 reams of webbing (12s)
-1 copper plating (3o)

-6 comms officers (2c, 2o, 2 squads)

-1 bronzewood light mobile cover without core (2c, 2o, 4w, 2s)
-8 bronzewood witch-hunters (10w)

Total cost: 20c, 13o, 16w, 14s
Resources left: 13c, 1o, 1w, 6s

Preparation:

Rename the 3 new vipers to Elapidae, Pareidae, and Bolyeriidae.

Equip the Anguis hull with all our stuff in storage and bring her into active service again.
-Normal hull
-6 reams of webbing
-Topaz Med Core
-Small lift
-2 topaz trim webs
-8 trim webs
-2 topaz trim crystals
-1 topaz vanguard cannon (front)
-8 kettleguns (6 front, 2 rear)
-copper plating (front)

Slot topaz VS core into bronzewood light mobile cover.

Split one marine squad in half. Name the half we're sending Cavalry 8.

Assign a comms officer to the Anguis, Elapidae, Pareidae, and Bolyeriidae, as well as the new Natalies.

Equip squads:
Cavalry 6: 4 topaz pistols, 4 bronzewood witch-hunters, 16 topaz grenades
Cavalry 7: 4 topaz pistols, 4 bronzewood witch-hunters, 16 topaz grenades
Cavalry 8 [50%]: Topaz Bronzewood Light Mobile Cover

Deployment:
Boidae, Jupiter and Dionysus use smuggling tactics to sneak away from Blackstone to Kasgyre. 1 Natalie moves to Glow Cove using Smuggling Tactics.

Send a fleet consisting of Elapidae, Pareidae, Bolyeriidae & 1 Natalie to fight at Blackstone. The ships already at Blackstone (Viperidae and 2 Natalies) Wait for reinforcements, then act. The four Vipers use Coordinated Fire. 1 Natalie with comms officer uses Scouting. Other Natalie escorts the Viperidae.

Redshirt 1 gets off Ocker.
Load up Ocker with Cavalry 6, 7, and 8. Have it smuggle them to Blackstone.

Cavalry 8 uses Shield Wall tactics to be the best mobile cover operators they can be.
All other squads advance forward using a mix of flanking and defensive fire.
Flanking: Squad A and B, Cavalry 6 and 7.
Defensive fire: Cavalry 1,2,3,4,5, Red Shirt 2.

All marines at Burned Mountain continue defending with Bait and Strike.

I have adjusted Operation Aftershock slightly. By purchasing one unit of copper plating instead of 2, we can afford comms officers for all ships at Kasgyre. Combat orders have been adjusted appropriately.

About Hurricane:
The 2 Natalies already at Blackstone don't have comms, and we have no good way to get comms to them before the battle. So they can't use coordinated fire effectively.

We only have one Natalie at Blackstone to use, not two. Either it scouts to Unfinished or it scouts to blackstone. If it scouts to Unfinished, then a PL Viper will have to pull command ship duty again.

If you fix the situation with the Natalies I will vote for Hurricane.

Making Anguis spend another turn at dock and lowering our marine reserves seem like a worthwhile tradeoff for fleet coordination. I don't want to send out Anguis at half armour though, it's already enough of a glass cannon.

I misread the location of those Natalies. Bear with me.

Edit: Done. A Natalie without a Comms Officer goes scouting, whilst the Kasgyre one plays as Command Ship.

Considering how in a fight versus three windriders our five vipers suffered heavy losses I don't want to send in any forces until we have a significant numbers advantage. If we keep attacking they'll be able to destroy us piecemeal if they've got enough ships.
