Okay, I may be sort of trying to cheat the prototyping action a bit here... Can we, umm, run a bit of a thought experiment... Like, umm, We sort-of know what imps look like, right? And more-or-less know what shields and spears look like, maybe? So, can we imagine an imp holding both a shield and spear at the same time, and sort of guess at how sensible it would be? I understand if we just don't have that good of a grasp of how mortals and all this anatomy and balancing stuff works...

Naw. I assume the rolls is the quality of the shields/spears. We still have to actualy make they to see how they turned out.

i vote plan alpha. we should do portals and make a variant of the imps that called a lesser demon for the next design/ prototype / revise phases

Your Job done, your master sets to work, First shadows twist and cut, rending the winds, (3+5 =8 ) From this the foundry was formed, Next it cracked, and out walked Imps armed with your newest creations, Spear Casters (4 + 3 = 7) and Shadecrystal Shields (2 + 6 =8 ) Finally Imps armed with other weapons walked out of true blackness...
Out burst the Seals upon the gates, you can tell that soon it will be time for your troops to march forth...

Blue Imps
These imps look just like regular imps except that they have fins, gills and webbed toes and fingers. Also they have blueish skin. They have a slight affinity to water.

I know this has been suggested before, but I'll throw out my version:

Medium Imps

These imps are 5 feet tall, and have the same affinities as normal imps. They are stronger and faster, and have wings.

Also:

Imp Pits

A vat of bubbling dark magic used to create imps in a mass production manner. This method allows us to convert raw materials into the magical energy needed to create our soldiers, with some manual labor required.

Name suggestion: "The Darkness"

Assessment of Foundry:
1 imp = 1 work?
3 U.W.P. = 8 production + 4 resource = 4 U.W.P. non-magical or 1 U.W.P. magical. Maximum of 1000 U.W.P. output per foundry.
Multiply U.W.P. spent on foundry by 4/3 up to 750 spent for 1000 produced = increase of 250.

Double worker effectiveness = 6/3 ratio and doubles the output limit. Likely difficult.
Double production efficiency = same result.
Half worker cost = same but no maximum output increase but probably much easier, still difficult though, these are extreme examples...
Half-price resources = 8/5 = 4.8/3

...
If we had many-armed workers(3 work on two projects at once) and fractal resources(only get three of them but they double when finished)...
2 U.W.P. = 6 production over two production lines. 2 U.W.P. =  6 resources that double into two items when finished = 9/3 to a maximum of 1000 spent for 3000 produced, or a gain of 2000 per foundry.

Well, there was food for thought there and I am a glutton...

Totally dig the pits i was thinking about such a thing myself.

We can probably pump out imp ideas in revisions so i will do this.

Also, since production turns 1 raw material into 1/4 UWP, we can put in 1uwp to get 2 uwp production instead of 8 nonmagical production, right?
