SpaceSquad Gear Thread

I'd like to know what kinds of weapons, tools, and skills people would like to choose from. Anything modern/light sci fi. Not a gun nut, so if you post specific hardware, describe the attributes about it you like most.

This will help decide the starting pool of choices I create.

These weapons are ready. If you want to recommend tweaks to make them more like the source, I will definitely consider it. Each weapon should be unique in some way.

MAIN WEAPON

Projectile: Can hit a fleeing target.

Burst: Can damage a barrier.

RIFLE
50 piercing damage. Can hit a fleeing target. Can see hints about what is in a nearby area(not diagonal) and can fire there too. Reload required.

FLAMETHROWER
70 fire damage to all others that stay in the area even allies. Preparation required(others can tell if it is), deactivated to use an item.

MACHINE GUN
30 piercing damage. Can hit fleeing targets. Choose up to 2 extra targets, they must chose the same movement as the target to hit. Reload required if used twice in a row.

CHARGE CARBINE
40 fire damage and 40 piercing damage. Can hit a fleeing target. Can see hints about what is in a nearby area and can fire there too. Reload Required. 5 ammo.

SMART GUN
40 piercing damage. Can hit fleeing targets, and targets that you saw leave already. Choose up to 2 extra targets at a cost of additional ammo, they must chose the same movement as the target to hit. Reload required if used twice in a row. 20 ammo.

Some kind of rocket launcher.

ITEM

MEDPACK
Use to instantly heal 25.

SILENT C4
Destroy a barrier. Quietly.

A-GRENADE
Throw into nearby area. All there that stay in the area are temporarily paralyzed, even allies.

UNIVERSAL AMMO
Replenishes any ammo based weapon.

LAND MINE
Activates when you leave the space placed in. 100 damage. 50% to go off immediately. Otherwise victim now has a 50% to walk away safely. A teammate can disarm it.

Placeable turret.

Body
Gecko Boots (toggle wallgrip pads)

Ranged Weapons
Charge Carbine (burn, pierce armour/shielding)
Bicentennial Automatic Kalashnikov (low cost rifle)
Pulse Rifle (high ammo, grenades)
Smart Gun (aiming assist)
Rekker (shrapnel or armour piercing rockets)
A-Grenade (violent spasms, non lethal)

Melee Weapons
Spatial Hammer (slows movement when prepped/heavy bludgeoning)

Assist
Automated Sentry Gun (heavy, automated, high ammo)
Work Loader (strength, large object protection, large clearance)

Weapons?

How about the generic kinetic weapons? (shotguns, assault rifles, rocket launchers, etc...)
Different types of body armor would be nice too.

A weapon idea would be the R-4 Charge Carbine, and it's bigger brother, the R-16.

They're kinetic-energy weapons that shoot shards of razor-sharp alloy coated with plasma, causing lacerations and burns on targets, and chewing through armor and shielding.

Enemy will likely be non human.

Limited use hardware will cost less.



As far as supply drops, eh, I wouldn't count on it.

If it was safe to fly in, it probably wouldn't need a squad.

Being heroic in person is for plebs. Rack up more kills than most of the human cast combined without even being there. Set one up in the obviously unsecured landing site and invalidate the second half of the movie. Something to leave behind when you don't want to split the party, or have too many angles to cover.

An autonomous scouting drone with the latest in narrative armour. Occasionally malfunctions and requires retrieval. Only mildly disastrous to team morale.
