Alright, fine.

"Squire 3 assigned to Basselton.  To escort Rook 2. If no enemy aircraft, to perform Aerial Reconnaissance."

Yeah, I guess it would suck if the Kol's took a bunch of empty ground to the north while we took a city in the plains.  I too am crying very much about this possibility.

As for Squire 4 doing Aerial Reconnaissance/Anti-Balloon, yeah, that sucks.  I wish we had another squadron to spare too, I feel your pain.

Alright that's much much better, one of my biggest complaints on your plan is solved at least. I'll still advocate for my plan though.

Edit: Also its not just the empty ground but the fact that a larger buffer from a city that belongs to us will be formed, and our buffer for our own cities will shrink. Still, at least we are assured to take their city in the center.

Bump. Kinda need a tiebreaker on the plans.

Hey, Cnidaros, can you tell us if we can send more than balloons to the south and if our enemies can send anything there either? Or is that latter bit classified info?

You can send more than balloons to the south. The latter is obviously classified info.

Can you please tell me why you chose eS's plan over mine? I'm just curios.

I much prefer Payback, sending planes on air superiority missions will intercept and disrupt enemy fighters trying to take down our balloons while also intercepting enemy reconnaissance flights and other things as well.

Welp, best hope for Nav or someone new to join to break the tie...or for someone to switch sides.

They're virtually the exact same plan, except Tower sends a squad south to help protect Basselton rather than stalling up north.

I have no idea why you are so adamant to leave another town undefended in order to protect a swath of empty ground.

It's less about defending empty ground than it is about playing politics with the army generals. If we abandon them now and the withdrawal turns into a rout they will blame us and our relations with the army will suffer hard as will our prestige. We need something in the air there not to save ground but to save face, this will be especially true if the enemy pull most of their squadrons out of there (I see no reason why they wouldn't) and we manage to inflict some harm on the squadrons that remain.

Considering the balloons were stated to be the only thing propping Basselton up last turn, I find it hard to believe that the Kol's would rather redirect squadrons to the north for actions beyond defensive measures instead of just defending Dreidansk and popping the balloons over Basselton.

Defending a town from being overrun and assisting in the takeover of another is surely more prestige-worthy than sending a token force to defend empty ground.

Cnidaros said it was classified if the Kols could send anything down there or not, making me believe that there is a chance that they actually don't have the relationship with the navy required to actually deliver aircraft and balloons down to the islands. I don't think Basselton would fall unless they put at least their own balloons and a squadron there, something I also don't think they have enough resources to care enough about as I would be surprised if they didn't focus mostly on the center and or north.

Note that for all we know it's an asymmetrical thing, like we got a stubborn navy and a helpful army, but kolechia could have it the other way around.

Also, conscript, why do you want a PR stunt squadron? I can see why we would want one as we don't have much prestige but, can we even do that?
Well, from the last battle report...
Behind the Frontlines:

The official KPAF acrobatic squadron makes its debut, flying Feather-1914 planes in a tour of various Kolechian cities. Audiences are wowed by the sight of planes doing loop-the-loops and steep dives, and the highlight of the show is a flight of seven Feathers executing a synchronised barrel roll. Perhaps the only drawback is that “Squadron 2” is a rather uninspiring name for these pilots, though the KPAF does gain some publicity among the public.
It would seem like the enemy has already done it, so presumably we can do so as well? Assuming we ever actually have a spare squadron at least.

Huh, I guess I missed that... anyway I guess considering how I doubt anyone will change their votes the generals in the north will be quite angry at us. Hopefully we at least push in the south.
