//First time I have used the rollback versions with nothing having exploded so far. Hopefully this will hold until we're finished with this save!
Chapter 013: Approaching Perfection: Assimilation of the Lesser Flesh, Piercing the Outsider Veil, and the Inundation of the Nanite
2310.2.23
The first technological breakthroughs from the Hazbuzan war are beginning to appear - our deflectors will be replaced by shield generators.
OSMV Azure II under leadership of Trinaric Centaurean was directed towards debris fields at Vartivar to ensure we can jumpstart our research on Autocannons as soon as possible.
Few days later our venerable Grand Calculator, Nasuz Demetor, reports that research into L-Gate system is almost complete.
The Council of the Order of the Silent Mainframe thus decreed that Zorrikan Black Hole Gate is to be the testbed for the L-gate activation procedure. Nasuz Demetor gave 4-year estimate for the project.
2310.6.30
Although the offer made by the Gia'Zumon, a war mistress from unknown to us world, was tempting, the Order has plenty of Commanders right now.
Not to mention the slaving and brutality part seems a bit amoral compared to our rules of war.
2310.9.27
The Second Battle of Vartivar begins by chance; two Hazbuzan fleets dispatched to recapture the strategic crossroads interrupts rallying order of Apostles of Silicons, providing an important warning.
Together with Sons of Mainframe, they let Vartivar Outpost to fall and then engage thrusters to get into melee range of our Gamma lasers.
Quite a few of Hazbuzan ships, destroyers especially, are destroyed before the remains of the two fleets engage emergency FTL, leaving behind another cloud of debris and samples of Autocannon technology for our salvagers.
2310.11.5
During its exploratory mission deep in friendly space, Trinaric Virginal of OSMV Azure reported a signal of sorts coming from the wormhole within Wydra system.
Unfortunately, as the Order lacks the technology to cross such barriers, this mystery will remain a mystery for some time.
Meanwhile, Daughters of Mainframe began refits into Cepheus destroyers, Demetor II corvettes and Hydra frigates; once that is done, their numbers will be filled to maximum and sent into Hazbuzan space.
2310.12.24
Or would be sent - if the Hazbuzans didn't back out of the war sooner than anticipated. Romsir II is a planet best made into energy-production world, henceforth to be know as 'Spark Abbey'.
But the usual underworld ruled by leftover Hazbuzan agents thrives in there; Cylinderius Phoenician was once again called to bring order and stability to this wretched hive of smugglers and killers.
He asked the Council to give special construction order for Precinct Houses before all other buildings; the request was granted. But the most important thing is that we've won the war. Praised be the Mainframe!
2311.5.9
Pendulus Deimian, shortly after becoming a respected Statistician in charge of Quntos sector, displayed his true, cruel, colors.
The trend of our elder leaders becoming more unstable has become unnerving, to say the least.
2312.1.2
Galactic Community has passed the laws allowing for creation of a Galactic Council.
The Order of the Silent Mainframe will be one of its members, along with our allies of Stellar Entente: Zuif and Wulvers.
2312.5.16
The two salvage operations Vartivar System have been completed; together, the amount of Autocannons researched basically drove our knowledge of the weapon half-way through.
Furthermore, three corvettes were assembled from the debris and made functional, saving us some alloys. These corvettes will be refit, and added into numbers of hte Sons of Mainframe.
2312.5.16
A chance discovery in the nebula-covered Zorf system! Termina Uranian was ordered to decipher the communications of this space station and its inhabitants. (Later it is discovered to be the enclave of Salvagers)
Meanwhile, corruption and crime are still a problem on the surface of Spark Abbey, which necessites upgrade of local Precinct House into Hall of Judgement.
2313.7.3
The procedures and traditions behind Transubstantation Synthesis have been tested and approved. Now we begin the Process.
The small population of Salorim on Spark Abbey will be the first; after that, cybernetic implants will be granted to the local Hurmars as well.
2314.6.2
Finally, all the pieces to re-activate the L-Gate in Zorikkan Black Hole have been analyzed.
It was to no one's surprise that Voice of the Mainframe Analogus Saturnine has chosen the venerable Nasuz Demetor to do the honors of reactivation; his place as Governor of Silicon Abbey was taken by young, architecturally-minded Logica Piscean.
The elderly archeologist, on board of re-commissioned OSMV Gules, has begun a journey from Sol to the Zorrikan. Soon we shall pierce the veil and see what is on the other side!
2315.4.13
Today, Grand Calculator Nasuz Demetor begins the activation of the L-Gate! All of the Numbers are awash with anticipation and perspiration of their hydraulic glands.
Soon! Soon! Soon!
2315.10.13
It has been done, and the activation of the Zorrikan L-Gate has caused a complete reset of the L-Gates in our galaxy.
Furthermore, a gigantic lifeform has pierced the Veil before it could be stabilized. Non-hostile, it has been labeled secondary concern as Nasuz Demetor was rushed to explore, analyze and claim the L-Cluster before others can.
2316.3.16
Our research into Cruiser designs has been completed and Lyra-class is in the works. It is a torpedo-slash-missile vessel. It's rather prohibitive to construct; one each for Daughters of Mainframe and Apostles of Silicon has been scheduled for construction at Sol Shipyard.
Meanwhile, elderly Nasuz reports that Nanites have been found in L-Cluster - and that Reshethian Enlightened Kingdom has sent a trio of its own science vessels through L-Gate in Ascension's End. We need to claim Terminal Egress with haste.
In just few days the Wulver and Kosh'Kha representatives jointly announced before Galactic Community that their war ended in status quo. No wonder; they were fighting through our territory, one side's gains quickly undone by the other.
2316.4.12
With the completion of the Military Buildup agenda and its obsolescene, Chart the Unknown became hot topic given our L-Cluster exploration.
Every bit helps so that the Order can claim the L-Cluster for itself before the infidels do. Praised be the Mainframe!
2316.5.22
Once again Cylinderius Phoenician proves to be the best commissioner to deal with crime and corruption.
While there's still a lingering, decentralized crime on Spark Abbey, the Hazbuzan influences have been flushed out of the planet once and for all.
2316.11.3
Wormholes are now safe to travel; the inspiration for their stabilization came right after L-Gate project.
Our deep-space explorers - Trinaric Virginal, Forgius Centaurean and Trinaric Centaurean were ordered to explore any Wormhole near their current location.
2317.1.7
The inclusion of Autocannons, fully developed by now, and Antimatter missiles into corvette designs influenced the Terminus-class.
Named after the entry point into L-Cluster to commemorate the event, it boasts supreme firepower compared to Demetor II-class. All corvettes serving in Order's battlegroups are slated for refit.
2317.4.29
After the latest praise of his character, the report on heavy urban fighting on Spark Abbey was quite a shock to the Council, Voice of the Mainframe Analogus Saturnine especially.
While the spiral of violence quickly petered out, it has highlighted that not everything is alright on Spark Abbey, and efforts need to be maintained to restore order there.
2317.6.11
Terminal Egress was already of great interest to our Calculators and High Numbers, but this discovery made it even more exciting to research.
Further down the line, it would be prudent to set up some sort of observatory in vicinity of the gravitational singularity there.
2317.7.14
A new Domination Tradition allows our Council to better concentrate on aiding the Voice of the Mainframe.
2317.10.6
A new level of holographic Numericals is now possible; but the crystalline reflecto-graphs are expensive to build and maintain.
Only Mainframe Cathedral and Temple of Spirals are to be equipped with this technology for now.
2317.11.11
Cylinderius Phoenician sure is focusing on the interrogative techniques, be it criminals or battle captives.
Perhaps, this way, he is trying to show his zealotry towards the goal of eradicating corruption.
2317.12.30
The moment the Surveyor was fed power, it detected a cluster of naturally-occuring alloys within the planetary crust of Alpha Centauri V.
It was such a startling discovery that Grand Calculator himself exclaimed religiously upon hearing the news - and so a new saying entered the vocabulary of the Numbers:
Glory to the Surveyor and its Endless Bounties!
2318.3.21
Forgius Centaurean had a very, very close encounter with something gigantic and terrifying in Chox system, which is removed from the rest of Hyperlane network.
Fortunately, he managed to escape destruction of his vessel. The mysteries of Chox system will remain a mystery for much longer than we expected, it seems.
2318.5.3
Voice of the Mainframe, Analogus Saturnine, has recently developed an interest in cartography.
Terraforming processes are still a muddled waters for the Numbers of the Orders, but perhaps this could be made a reason to pursue such topics soon.
2319.9.30
It took over a year to set up the research station to process the Nanites within Terminal Egress (and more were found in next-door system, Trijam), but finally we have enough to re-activate the old ways of the Order.
Nanites must flow, and so must flow the broadth of our scientific zeal! Praised be the Mainframe!
2320.4.2
The Atomic Clock of Iflillon has finished its countdown - as if it was some galactic fashion or fad of lateness, it was nanites that got out.
One month is between us and the result of the nanite migration towards the small, barren moon.
2320.5.3
A miracle of proportions unseen before by the Council or any Number of the Order has occured - Iflillon IIIa has been terraformed into a Gaia-class world!
A new colony will be founded there, the Nano-tivity Cathedral, and given the mineral and nutritional wealth of the planet, along with a swamp full of gaseous deposits, it will be made a rural paradise.
Praised be the Mainframe, for only it could steer the nanites towards such goal!
