The Tallest Tower
« on: April 02, 2021, 04:23:46 pm »

The Tower. Home (and grave) of countless adventurers, monsters, and villains alike. How and why you - or anyone, for that matter - end up here is unknown to all but the bravest and most foolhardy. Explore its floors and see what you can find, but beware - you're never quite alone. Even the safest parts of the Tower are more dangerous than most would be comfortable with. Reach the highest floor - if there is one - and you may find your freedom. Good luck.

Welcome to my newest probably doomed game. Make character sheet, explore, kill things, etc. You're not exactly limited to fantasy stuff, though this is a fantasy-based world - so if you've got a gun, you'd better find a way to get more bullets. Really what happens is almost entirely up to you guys - if you all want to decide you're one person with a lot of voices in their head - then I guess that's what we're doing :)

Skills Registry

The skills registry exists as a master reference list of all the skills held between all characters, as well as a reference for other skill-related mechanics. Unique skills exist here purely for reference while creating new ones.

Mastery of a skill comes from a concerted effort to improve, as well as the continued use of a skill. Mastering a skill increases your bonus, the amount depends on how specific your skill is. Unique skills cannot be mastered.

We desperately needed someone with good Wis, apparently. Thankfully, I was already planning to go the well-rounded route.

Waiting on a response for how to go about making a good unique skill for metal magic. Skill is in :)

Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

I'm gonna say 7 is a good number of people, so let's get this started, and anyone else who decides to join may do so whenever :)

The world seems to stutter. You feel a great twist in your soul and a tug, and suddenly your surroundings change.

Wherever you may have been, you are now in a great hall of stone. Light shines through massive stained glass windows, each one depicting a different story - some of great victories, others of heart wrenching defeats. At one end, there is a massive door, carved with a depiction of a great tower, a light shining out from the very top. In the floor is a large, slightly raised, circular dais. Depicted on top of it is what seems to be some sort of astrological cycle.

Whether sitting or standing, you all appear on or in front of a heavy wooden bench, clearly weathered with age. The rest of the hall is empty, save the door, dais, and the bench you've all appeared upon.

What shall you do?

Wood!

Firebolt the wooden door to set it on fire. Then watch it burn some.

Cut looks around silently for a few moments before concluding that this is not a cutscene.
Swing my sword at the windows, the dias, the bench, and finally the door, resting if these objects are destructable. If any of them break, look through the wreckage for anything useful to loot.

"Hiah!"

Blod sits down at the bench and attempts to understand what just happened.

(I will point out that my skills were not yet added to the Skills Registry. And at least one other player's application appears to have been done incorrectly, I recommend that you review them.)

Beethro mutters to himself a moment.  "First level, The Entrance."

"And I see someone's already looking for crumbly walls.  That's good."

Wait a bit to let the fires burn down before proceeding.

Tramyrk just stood in place, observing all of the people who had been teleported with them.

"...what are you all doing?"
