WORLD TURN 5: THE ERA OF DAY
To prevent the Dragon-Meteor from landing on one of the inhabited regions of the world, [ACTION].[WILL].[EON] the God-King used its power to redirect the Dragon into the Night-Sky. Crossing the veil between the Finite and the Beyond, the Dragon-Meteor landed with fated force in the Night Sky, obliterating it. Across the entire world did the Night Sky perish, eradicating the reign of Night and heralding a new tyranny of Day. This long era of Eternal Day would be known as the
Endless Day.
The Great Contest of Neetocris
Before the Dragon-Meteor landed,
Neetocris the God-King issued a contest to the kingdoms of the world, exorting them to show him the greatest houses and homes and promising his blessing to the winner. All answered the call, and fierce was the competition between the hearth-homes of Gavrasratii, the sand-homes of Esulom, the Familybarges of Dressalia, and the ruin-homes of Scaple. After a long deliberation, Neetocris deemed the ruin-homes of Scaple most pleasant among all outside from Gempria, and gave them his blessing. From this day onward the Adventurers and people of Scaple have worshipped
Neetocris everytime they enter or leave a home.
The Death of the Night Sky and the Rains of Fire
The destruction of the Night Sky had lasting repercussions on the various regions of the world, the order of nature being once again shattered save for Gempria of Eternal Day which remained unchanged thanks to the protection of
Tim the God-King.
The most touched parts of the world were Esulom and Scaple, whose weakened fungal ecosystem near collapsed with the unending tyranny of Day. Moss, fungus, and even rot dried and shriveled under the scorching glare of
THESUN the God-King, and even the parts touched by the Lesser Regeneration of
Storm Shuddering Winds Embraced By Chitinous Thread the God-King perished. The trees planted by Ferina died in Esulom, and only barely survived in Scaple. Curiously in Esulom, an old spell forgotten by all reemerged, affecting all the elemental Sandfolks of Esulom.
In Scaple, all snakes suffered but survived, save for the unblessed many winged snakes who under a strange compulsion tried to fly toward THESUN, burning their wings and perishing in the process. In Esulom, the same happened to the Songbirds save for the blessed ones and lone Songbird named Raven.
And as if to further punish these lands, the Meteor-Dragon descended upon them to sow destruction among their mortal kingdoms.
Esulom: the Sand and Fungal Folks and the coming of the Dragon
The war between the Sand Kingdom and the Kingdom of Lasers resumed soon after the short ceasefire. And at the same time, a strange affliction changed all the Sandfolks of the Sand Kingdom: due to an old spell cast by the very Storm, all Sandfolks of the Sand Kingdom turned into elementals of Moss and Fungus now called Fungalfolks. This "disease" started also affecting the Sandfolks from the Kingdom of Lasers, causing a wave of panic across Esulom. In the Sand Kingdom only a rare few members of the blessed bloodline of the Sandking were immune to the curse, surely due to their stronger affinity to the powers of sand and dust given to them by
the Astral Kingmaker, while in the Kingdom of Lasers only the Council of Sand were protected by the blessing of
Omnipotence the God-King.In addition to this curse-plague, the Night ended and the land died, and a Dragon-Meteor descended from the skies. It sowed devastation in its wake, with no arms of mortal make able to wound it, not even the Electricity Orb could affect it under the hands of the Council of Sand. The Dragon would be only repelled by the temporary alliance of the two warring states, the offensive being spearheaded by the brave Fungalfolks led by the blessed Sandprinces who wielded the Sands themselves, while the Sandfolks and their lasers supported them from behind. Although they managed to repel the Meteor-Dragon, the Sand Kingdom ended greatly weakened by this pyrrhic victory. The cunning Council of Sand then broke the temporary agreement and launched an attack on the Sand Kingdom, eradicating due to their fear of the fungal plague. Little did they know that Esulom itself was the source of said curse.
The Sandprinces however did not perish, and fled Esulom for the Vast Dust along with their few surviving retainers and followers, where they settled in Dressalia.
Scaple: the Adventurers and the Dragon
When they needed him the most,
Revolution the God-King disappeared into an aurora. Breaking past the aurora fell the Dragon-Meteor, its star fire killing many of the people from Scaple and destroying everything save from the blessed homes of the people. It was only thanks to the combined might of the newly empowered Queen Vetriel, the Shamans, and the Snake-Baghaturs that the Dragon could be repelled. Unfortunately many Charismatic Shamans and Life-and-Death Shamans died in battle, their vast knowledge lost without being transmitted.
When the Dragon crisis had passed, the Snake-Baghaturs negotiated with Queen Vetriel the inclusion of the newly mortal Winged Snakes as privileged citizens of the Adventurer Kingdom. Queen Vetriel accepted, and there was a golden age of exploration and expansion thanks to the Endless Day chasing away the snakes from the surface. The healers, shamans, and baghaturs formed the Circle of Wisemen to preserve, develop, and pass on the esoteric arts of Scaple. The formation of the Circle heralded the return to prominence of shamanism which since the fall of the Shaman Kingdoms had become a stagnating art. Soon enough Adventurers became polyvalent wielders of medical arts, shaman rituals, serpent songs, and practical skills.
Gempria: The Spirit King of Two Seasons and the Democracy of Day
Due to the powerful protection of
Tim the God-King, the Dragon-Meteor couldn't approach Gempria. Great changes shook the two nations of Gempria.
First was the peaceful revolution and regime change of the Empire of Eternal Day, which under the blessing of
THESU the God-King saw the lazy become productive, the blind become able again, and the corrupt to become virtuous. The corrupt Five Molten Generals, having lost the mandate of heavens, stepped down from their positions and proclaimed the end of the Empire. The diligent people rose to the challenge of changing their nation, turning it after a great many efforts into the Democracy of Day, where the people are kings, and kings there are none. Finally at peace and blessed by the Eternal Day, the people of the Democracy knew a golden age of arts and trade. As a sign of this revolution, the original printing press was exposed in the national museum of the Democracy.
In the Kingdom of Two Seasons, the ever wise rule of the Great Spirit Beasts caused them to elect among the Fire-Shade-Unlen mixed royal bloodline a Spirit King of Two Seasons to lead and protect Spirit Beasts and Fire/Shade-Unlen alike. Under the guidance of the new King, the Kingdom saw an unprecedented age of spirit summoning and innovation thanks to the development of the SCS "Spirit Courrier System" which allowed for rapid and unbiased delivery of information and items through the governmental Spirit Beasts, which is said to have been sponsored by Neetocris himself so that he could get home deliveries faster.
Amidst all of this, the ever wondrous Palace of Neetocris became the envy of all, its many magical and technological wonders inspiring the minds of the people from the Kingdom. Neetocris became known as a patron god of inventors, with the popular idiom "Simple and effective like Neetocris intended" spreading across Gempria. The gemprian innovation spirit spread across the world, touching Scaple, Vast Dust, and Rutvarian Mountains.
Gavrasratii: ALL HAIL RUT GRATIS VAR
The day Rut-Var rose and the two God-Kings became the Twinned God-King of RUT GRATIS VAR would forever be remembered by the Sratii as a rapturous day of glory and zealous nationalism. The imperial ceremony saw the Blessed Legions march before the Mother-Emperor, who would soon ascend into a greater Mother-Mountain unlike anything seen before. The mountain roared, the skies trembled, and the magma-blood fumed.
RUT GRATIS VAR rose to life, and the two God-Kings inhabited it as Gavrasratii took of to the skies, leaving a gigantic crater below and disconnecting them from the vast undergound tunnels that connected them to the other regions.
As if to challenge the newly risen Gavrasratii, the Dragon-Meteor descended on RUT GRATIS VAR and warred with the Sratii. The mountain faces were scorched and many warriors and golems lost their lives, but the Dragon was no match against the Blessed Legions Who Defeated Blasphemy. Repelled, the Dragon fled and the Empire rejoiced.
Under the rule of the newly returned Sratiitra, and the blessing of RUT GRATIS VAR, the Empire knew an age of absolute domination and righteousness, imposing their diplomatic weight on the other landbound regions and obtaining many wonders from Dressalia. Among them the most important was the revolutionary flying vehicles known as the Skycraft, moved through the air thanks to the combination of namestone cores and Rutvarium frames. For now Gavrasratii maintained cordial relationships with Dressalia and the other nations, but the appetites of the Mountain were only sleeping...
Dressalia: the Wanderer Megapolis
With centuries passing and memory fading, the Wanderers forgot the trauma of lost Dasala and returned to the Vast Dust where the city of Dressalia had now become a grand city called the Megapolis. With the gift of namestones, the import of Rutvarium, and the engineering knowledge of returned Wanderers, the inventors of Dressalia created a great many wonders centered around namestone technology.
North: the Great Unknown
The North is calling to the Wanderlust of those who seek the Journey of the Unknown. The lost Wanderlust has started to manifest into a primordial form of living entity.
