I'm town.
I'd say my power level is pretty low this game, but it could put some work in if the right situation comes up.

Also, to be fair, EJ was part of the winning team last time.

Just to set my footprint here, I'm Town, and so's my wife. No, I don't expect you to believe me. But she is.

(Srsly, nothing actually useful to say yet. Keeping on yapping, though, and maybe I'll even look dangerously close to finding out the Truth on Day 1. As if.)

Hypercompetent
:')
Could go for the day 1 Jack lynch. Make some data or make like an euchre tree. Defending me does not constitute town, rather much the opposite when you poke things and distrust.

VermillionSkies - vermillion: the colour of blood. Blood in the skies: the murder of our plane. Nominative determinism. The fates have told us the mafia we just have to have the eyes that would listen.

Starver, who do you mistrust, instinctively?

Hyper, good to have you on board. How would you characterise the kind of mafia (or werewolf??) you've played before? Here are some adjectives to consider: Role mad? Mountainous? Analytical? Sedate? Frenzied? Rude? Polite? Overpowered? Chaotic?

Maybe one culture thing I've seen playing in other places: elsewhere there's often a protracted random-vote-stage where sheeping is acceptable. Down in Bay12, there tends to be a lot of random questioning. In other places this comes across as scummy. Unfortunately, sheeping is often seen here as scummy. Might be that that holds play back a bit, as some amount of following-the-leader is necessary to form proper wagons.

I guess I forgot Armed Forces Basic Edition but that was because I hammered myself to force everyone to trust my plan. That was where I learned that self-hammering is actually awesome and now I do it all the time.

Would that I could have self-hammered last game. Nope, spent N1 doing nothing but waiting cause I got infected N0.

good to be on board. well, most of my mafia - never called it werewolf myself - experience comes from playing in-person, so two words would be analytical (im actively looking for physical tells, such as shifting body and eyes - for all the good that does here) and polite, up to a point. if i believe someone has a reason to lie, i try to just pay general attention to what they’re doing. i’ll have to relearn all of my strategies and ways to discover people, but ill take a passive role at first and be attentive of how the game goes to be of use.

NQH: Sorry, no instincts worthy of raising yet. As I write this, three[1] people haven't yet even made silly introductions.

(Might I be able to answer when they have..?)

Hey all! As is my own personal tradition, I'd like to announce that I'm town. My power level... hmmm... acceptable. Don't expect much help from me for a little while, though. Give me till at least like day 3 or 4 before you start lynching me for not moving toward a town wincon enough.  :P

Lol.  If I don't, it's because things are going badly and you seem happy about it.  Sorry about still learning to read you.  I was pretty powerless last game, unless that book worked out, and that pretty much wasn't gonna work from D1 eyes FoU fondly.

Woo!  Two players new to me :)  Welcome/welcome back guys!  What do you (each of you, Starver and Hyper) love most about mafia?  What's your proudest thing been so far, out of the games you've played anywhere?

Would that I could have self-hammered last game. Nope, spent N1 doing nothing but waiting cause I got infected N0.

Naughty.  I still think that would have harmed town.  Dude, we elimed mafia D1, and you were town.  The heck you wanna hammer town-self instead of elim maf.  The heck!

Imp: It's been quite a while since I've played anywhere[1], so hard to cite exmples, but I like the idea of finding a thread I can pull on (to whichever agenda I am subscribed to). Rarely so simple, often comes of naught. And pride usually comes before fall lynch. (Or the lack of one, should it be necessary.)

(It's later here... In fact, stuck around to wait until the 504s stopped preventing me posting what is this time a far less elogant response. Back to chat (later) in the morning.)

[1] Including here, but I'm sure you'll find plenty of signs of me if you hunt back far enough. But I've got history in Mafia (forum-style), Werewolf (live and IRL) and Speed-Mafia (chat-channel). This is the more sedate type of play, but then I feel forces me to dig far deeper than 'mere' gut feelings and 'what-the-heck' knee-jerking.

hey! definitely the way the people play/the people themselves. the banter and general atmosphere makes it fun, especially when we have to switch to serious mode to actually figure out who’s who before we lose.

my proudest thing was actually semi-recently, when we guessed who was the mafia two times in a row and won in the single most efficient way (group of 8). it was more or less nothing but luck, yet still is the most fun and therefore proudest moment i’ve had.
