Buildings on wagons seems...rather starcrafty.  Or Dwarfcraft, as may be the case.

if you make the wagon a pet you can get brown "W"s.

as an update I just embarked on a wagon town with 20 war wagons because of having 2 creature files this will work!(oh and they breed)

sadly when used as a pet or creature whatever alchemy causes them to be 3x3 blocks of awesome goes away and reduces them to only W's

I think what you have described are not simple wagons. Those are wagon-form replicators!!
