My nerves are chafed raw by my upcoming rotation in the UK. People are beggining to tell, too.

It's frustrating that I somatize physical symptoms before realizing consciously that I am stressed. And even more frustrating when those around me notice even before my physical symptoms . Makes me feel less in control.

Also: I'm being made a job offer which while superficially tasty, might have a poisonous core.

Girl behind the counter at this coffee shop was Lithuanian. Sadly, the myth that Lithuanians can grok simple sentences in Sanskrit is...a myth.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

I'd think it's more along the lines of "I can't feel pain or suffer any more once I'm dead".
You also can't feel happiness either, so it's a moot point.
To someone with depression, that's not something you get in life either, so no great loss from their perspective.

@Truean - I know losing just one friend like that is devastating. Almost three in a week... is just wrong.

Oh man, I received an utterly dreadful gift, unasked for, unsuited and unexpected.
I would really rather the person who sent it to me saved their money instead (moreso than I would usually, I don't need people to spend their dollars buying me gifts in the first place), but now I probably have to pretend to like it lest I upset them. ::)
I mean really, said person could have paid the same amount of shipping and sent me a book of mine that I've been wanting to have in my new home for ages and thus made me very happy without buying anything new.

"You'll have your phone," they said. "Text me to keep up to date," they said.

Guess who has no mobile network available somehow, can't get into the school wifi or any computers? Honestly I have no idea what network I'm on, but I'm glad it exists. It may not be the best, but if it wasn't there I wouldn't be able to even tell you how disastrously my first day this semester is going, much less tell anyone who can do something about it. (And even then I'm not sure the emails are getting through.)
Maybe should be in the terrified thread. But I'm too panicked to look for it. How ironic.

Edit for autocorrect nonsense.

We live in a world where the rivers are poisoned. Those in power are pursuing money to the expense of all else, leading to fields being literally filled with salt. The technologies that could solve one of our major problems are either counter to the goal of profit, or produce horrifically dangerous waste that we have no way of dealing with. All major industry produces some amount of toxic waste, much of which has been released freely into the environment. Some of the very worst are also used the most profusely, to the point where every sentient being has more than the manufacturer's safety limit upon concentration in their blood. The earth, in other words, is being almost deliberately poisoned from a dozen angles, while the political systems of the world's most powerful nations seem to be growing only less sane. And to top it off, those already responsible for the rest continue doing their best to cut off all avenues of escape.

Oh, technology is neat, we just need to be less bugfuck insane about sustainable practices. I'd personally like the next few generations not to survive off rat kabobs in between scrapping dead shipping vessels.

Got the class lists for future Thursdays. Crush isn't in my class, and tbh I'm not sure how I feel about that. Somewhere I think we could still have talked like usual after I asked her out? Would've been interesting to find out. But now I probably won't ever find out. Oh well. On the other hand, me being in a class with my crush who just rejected me and some of her friends would probably have been really frustrating. Meh.

So who is in my class? There's only three (?) guys in the class, including me. All the rest are girls. One guy I don't know and the other I dislike, but both are more social than me. I don't really see this not ending with me sitting awkwardly in a corner, as always. I just can't handle talking in a group to people I don't know well when they know eachother well. I never end up actually participating >.>

E: oh, nvm, looks like it's time for us to discuss the workings of the forums in depth in the sad thread again.
