Only if declaring the role and it's powers actively will lead to them being spotted as scum.  If the scum can honestly say exactly what they can do (excluding the mafia aspect of it, of course) then they are fine.

(i.e. Lust's role in uPick could NOT be claimed honestly since it's major power was based around the mafiakill.  A Dopp Agent, however, can claim Agent honestly)

But what I meant was... well, in uPick you can claim you have a role you don't have and whatever powers you want. The idea would be that Mafia wouldn't have to try to guess what roles I put in.

Which is why I spent a while thinking of a falseclaim before giving up when I realised it would almost certainly mean having my replace action blocked.  It's interesting thinking of a falseclaim for a BYOR - you have to think what you might've picked if you were in a town aligned mood :P.

Well, I'm pretty sure hosts assign scum randomly, if not their actual powers (at least, that's how I do it). So... yeah. The role name isn't the important part.

Hmm... I think BYOR 1 had two forced alignments (Suigintou and the Ace of Spades (the traditional mafia card, comon!)).  And then there was the Barack Obama/ Glenn Beck thing, which was awesome.
