Action 4
Quote
You take the books out and spread them across the table. They are about...
SCIENCE!

Chemistry and Physics, to be specific. You feel that, being on your own, its important to brush up on the fundamentals, and you don't get much more fundamental than these two. Unfortunately, you don't have much in the way of tools to deal with either of these fields yet, but that is no reason not to get a move on.

Just a few more things, and your lab will be up and running.

You turn to the that which takes up half the table, and cost nearly all of your funds, a device dedicated to your Specialty, that specialty being...

I think it's for either our primary or secondary Passion, but I'm not sure.  ???

Info 6
Specialities
Specialties are specific subfield, or combination of known fields, that grant a boost in associated levels when working with them. Your specialty, in this situation, must fall at least partially within the confines of Programming or Engineering. Killbotics is an example of a specialty that would fall within both of these fields, but other options are certainly possible, and your specialty need only fall at least, in part, in one of them.

Killbotics, unless someone can come up with something more bad-ass (which I doubt).

After a specialty has been decided on, decisions will no longer be made democratically, but on a first come/first supported basis.

Essentially, whenever a new Action is announced, the first suggestion that is nominated and then seconded by at least two other players is set as the next action. (Would that technically be thirded? Whatever!)

Also, other ideas for possible Specialties would be
Killbotics (Machines made to destroy. Battlebots/Tanks/Drones, etc.),
Machine Minds (Artificial Intelligences/Personalities/Autonomous Software),
Cybernetics (implants, enhancements),
Aeronautics (dirigibles, spaceships, flying vehicles),
Black Hat Hacking (Cracking/Virus Writing/Reverse Engineering),
White Hat Hacking (Optimization/Efficiency/Security),

Can't decide between Machine minds and killbotics.

Yeah, definitely Killbotics.

We won't need particularly advanced automation until our schemes are well underway, and we shouldn't need to delve into artificial intelligence. We won't need Aeronautics for some time (if we decide to launch a death ray into space, for instance). Black Hatting and White Hatting will both be quite valuable (particularly the latter, to foil sabotuers), but we can pick them up on the way.

I like cybernetics, though I appear to be outnumbered.

It's something that can wait untill we are further down the road.

You only ever gain one specialization. All of those things are still possible without it, a Specialization really just mean you can start doing it a lot earlier. It also means when building that thing, you can effectively build at a level higher than the normal max level, making some REALLY scary stuff if you ever get that far.

Current Votes:
Killbotics - 2
Cybernetics - 1

I like Black Hat Hacking. Killbotics may end up taking a while to get good, but the hacking can become useful right away.

But ... it's so tempting ...

I'll go ahead and vote Black Hat.

White Hat also has perks. Would suck to have a computer network and it gets hacked by our foes. But sticking with Killbotics.
