Can I take the Indian general? If so, reinforce our guys enough that we can attack something in India and win. Try not to gain many European territories, and KEEP THE 13 COLONIES ALIVE GRAH.

Alliances + Land Battle VS: Pirates

In Europe, as the keels to new Fluyts were laid down and conscripts were raised for the Dutch army, the Diplomats were busy also, Namely an alliance with Hanover was signed, this would hopefully give the strength to break through Westphalia and its powerblock consisting of several German states including Austria and Bavaria.


Meanwhile in the Caribbean Gerald called upon one of his trusted officers, One Christiaan de Caster, to raise a force of colonial troops in Curacao,


Once raised they quickly boarded the freshly repaired Flotilla and they sailed for Trinidad and Tobago



Upon reaching the island the fleet quickly secured the shipyard and the troops  disenbarked and began their march for San José de Oruña.



A small force of pirate forces marched to meet them.



Three units of infantry was sent forward to route them, with the Colonial Militia marching to meet them head on as an anchor while the Colonial Foot marched to closer firing positions.




Upon reaching a closer range where their muskets could have a more devastating effect on the pirates they opened up.



The militia quickly moved up to join in close range fire.



The pirates, many of them nothing more then citizens pressed into service by pirate warlords, soon routed and the island was taken.




Though the battle was easily won it provided valuable experience for the fresh recruits and the colonial army definitely came out the battle stronger.

Militia, Militia in DMUC get 300, their is alot of unit size changes in DM, Russian troops are the most drastic change, with Cossack Infantry numbering 375!! (and they do firing drills!) and line infantry at like 325.  Most European factions have line regiments around 225, UP included. This is of course on large unit sizes in DM, technically we can go even larger across the board but thats a bit too much for my laptop. :P

So we've got additional territory now?

Yep, maybe more soon if we can conduct a successful invasion of the last pirate stronghold (YAY PIRACY GONE FOREVER)

Well, fortress up the Europe and take the other Theaters.

Luckily we are quite fortuitous to have a fort in Amsterdam. (How we managed to build a fort while high, I have no idea)

Dude thats's the water line, aka flood the whole damn countryside in half a meter high muck and take potshots at anyone trying to attack us. You realy expect the Dutch to build a normal fortress?
