I guess I know why no one else picked Werewolf now.
werewolves are balanced between points and natural strength. in a tournament dominated by KOBOLD WITH ADAMANTINE LONGSWORD and YETI WITH STICK this is a bad thing.

in other news: hell yeah, second place! hiding behind your shield and poking with your spear at random, that is the Spartan way. let's hope I manage to do as well in the real tournament!

Awesome tournament so far.

Lol at the exhibition battle, though. My dude was sleeping, totally defenseless, in the middle of a huge battle royale, and being ignored by pretty much everyone else. In the end, I imagine it was something like:

Sledge: Whoa man, I totally lost track of time. What happened while I was out?

Yeti: I killed everyone else and won the war without a single scratch.

Sledge: Great job bro. I'll just take... another... little napZZZZzzzzzzz....

You were passed out on the right side of the Arena moaning about your poor hand while everyone was fighting in the top left. Besides Vox no enemy ever got near you.

Maybe it's just coincidence, but these last few matches people sure have been whining about injured hands more it seems they should.  :-\

Match Two

Maple Willow Aspen and Gutstabberson, son of Gutstabber versus Special K and Tiny
Managers Mysteriousbluepuppet, Howells, Prepaid Lenin, and calrogman

"So, Olon, what've we got today?"
"Well, Urist, it's the second day of the tourney, and things are heating up!"
"Fantastic. Why don't you tell our viewers about this next matchup?"
"We've got an interesting match today, Urist. On the left side, we have the elf Dwarf Hippy, Maple Willow Aspen! He may be a traitor to our race, but he's got a lotta love for everyone... and a silver whip! Looming beside him is the gigantic Minotaur, Gutstabberson, son of Gutstabber! I gotta tell you, his dad made an amazing showing in the last tournament. Will Gutstabberson make Gutstabber proud?"
"I don't know about that, Olon, I'm liking the odds on these guys. Special K, that little kobold over there, he's pretty nifty with his axe. He may be going in unarmored, but if you can lop off the other guy's head off first, it doesn't matter how much armor you're wearing. And his partner, Tiny the Minotaur, with a huge warhammer made out of platinum! Say, how much is that thing worth?"
"More than you make in a month, Urist. So let's see if it proves to be the deal-sealer in this fight!"

Special K darts forward just as the bell rings, lashing out with an axe that is almost his size. His strike proves true, and disarms Maple Willow Aspen in a flash, sending his right arm flying away. Clearly, however, Maple Willow Aspen is on something, and he ignores what has to be horrendous pain and lashes Tiny the Minotaur in the leg. In a strange exchange of opponents, Gutstabberson makes his first attack of the match - at Special K. Bellowing fiercely, he gutstabs the kobold in the side with his massive pike, knocking the poor little guy over. Tiny makes his own charge at Maple Willow Aspen, but it appears all that investment in shiny armor was in vain, for he misses his strike entirely as the Dwarf Hippy dances out of reach and parries his second blow.

From this point on, the fight belongs entirely to Team 1. Gutstabberson begins to methodically pick Special K apart, at one point cutting off his hand with a neat thrust to the wrist, while Maple Willow Aspen demonstrates a cultural treasure, the Yuktobanian Whip Dance. This is a refined art form that requires years of practice. It involves whipping the crap out of your opponent until he can't move.

With a well-placed strike, the Dwarf Hippy paralyzes Tiny for the rest of his very short life. Gutstabberson leaves Special K and proceeds to do what he does best, to Tiny. The fight ends in a hail of whip and pike blows.

Winner: Maple Willow Aspen and Gutstabber, son of Gutstabber!

"An instant classic, Olon! Amazing!"
"I got minotaur brain on me."

He's holding your other shield from you. Anyway your whip is practically a lightsaber, you should be fine.

If he lives, he gets a crapload of points, which he could theoretically spend on a Slade Buckler eventually...
We would be unstoppable.

Your matchup is against Mr. Stabs and Spanner... It's a superweapon fight. He has an adamantine spear, you have a slade whip.

Shield material doesn't matter, right? I at least have a leather breastplate for my organy bits, but I'm counting on Imacutyouintheface to block that spear for me while I go for a HEADSHOT.

Don't count out Spanner, he has a pretty solid build.

If you had gotten another hit in, that probably would have ended Maple Willow Aspen.

slade is too heavy for a shield

adamantine, on the other hand...

you would be perfect opposites - him light, you dark. him defense, you offense.

this of course depends on you surviving the first round.

A light... Gremlin... and a Dark Dark Gnome. I'm liking the thematics.
You listening, McDorf? We've got to get this theme going if we survive.
...which isn't very likely.

Shrugging off a missing limb is good, but I'd like to see you shrug off a missing lower body. :P

I might just put in the exact same character for the next tournament. The build is both brutal and entertaining.

Though I do have an idea in mind about a dagger using Yeti...
