Hmmm, it would be interesting if it summoned water, and the water had to return after the spell expired...

The session's not likely to be more than a couple hours early. I fully intend to sleep until that point.

For the knowledge (architecture) thing, I like RAM's idea. You can ditch Ride and Handle Animal for Profession (siege engineer) and Knowledge (architecture and engineering).

As for the Summon Water cantrip... change the flavor text so that you create the water using magic (much like one would create force missile or a shitload of fire out of pretty much nothing), make the duration explicitly instantaneous, and give it a range of touch.

Alright. Can I go ahead and put a point in siege engineer, taken from the now class skill architecture? (Making Architecture remain 1 instead of going up to 2, since it has 2 points put into it)

I think this justifies well too. Riding and getting animals to listen to something that smells like a deer would be difficult, but the architecture and Siege engineering could have been taught by a retired siege engineer in his home village (which is how I justified architecture anyway, though it was a retired mason in my head.)

He clearly wasn't a human child but he isn't quite a deer either.
He tends to do the right thing.

I will probably be a little late to today's session.

If we start at 11:00 PM GMT, I should be there on time. Any earlier and I'll probably be late. The earliest I could possibly show up on time is 10:00 PM GMT.

As for the Summon Water cantrip... change the flavor text so that you create the water using magic (much like one would create force missile or a shitload of fire out of pretty much nothing), make the duration explicitly instantaneous, and give it a range of touch.
I understand the range of touch, but if the water instantly disappears, what's the use of the spell?

If it has an instantaneous duration, it doesn't go away. The water summoned is permanent. It just appears in a pulse.

I'll just go with "the usual time".

Also, the session is likely to be between three and four hours long (instead of the usual five or six). I've got a throat sickness of some kind that I'm going to want to recover from, presumably via sleep.

I won't be able to make it today, then. My dad randomly decided to drag me to a stupid sports thing, even though I'm pretty sure it's canceled.
