Haven't seen anyone else ask... what's new with 31.17?

Yeah, I see.  It's out.  But I have 2 big forts I don't want to stop right now.  Should I upgrade and try to carry my saves along or what?

Adventure mode has been MARJORY updated in .17, new day and night system...

Can someone confirm what can happen when a dwarf is not buried properly?

I think the main effect on fortress mode will be intelligent targeting and opportunities in combat.  Dwarves and their enemies are supposed to exploit vulnerabilities now, especially effective coup de grace of disabled opponents.  It sounds like a lot less luck will be involved now?  I'm dying to give this a shot, but I'm stuck at work for the next several hours :(  I'd love to hear some personal accounts from fortress mode.

I just booted it up, my intro movie is messed up that it goes through all the frames, but it always goes from right to left with each frame.  hard to explain but it's messed up.

but i put this in my Lazy newb pack (after backing up)  and just switched out the 31.16 and put in the 31.17 and put in the required files so that may be why.

Ah so the night creatures don't show up in fortress mode yet?

Then again that would make sense.  Days must pass so quickly in fortress mode they'd probably be flickering in an out like vermin.  Extremely dangerous rip your face off and shove up your ass vermin...

Actually, I don't think that time in dwarf mode is that fast. I had once the game run for the whole day in background and barely passed a year. Maybe it's just my computer that is slow, but to me the speed seems acceptable.

There is something. Toady once said that "burial is more recommended", which implies night creature zombies or ghosts in dwarf mode to unburied dead. But we need confirmation from someone's experience.
