Right. Set up the dining hall, watch Karratan. Sleep next turn. Gotcha. I'll put something in before I roll the next turn. Now to RP out some Diplomacy with Dwarmin...

Towercap takes a sip from the cup. "Eh, I like the flavor of pine in my water... And as for Goreruby, she is a fine lass. Great in the farmers workshop, great in the kitchen, she can even hold her own with a mace I hear. Tradition in this valley states that all the young females serve as concubines to their elder until they wed someone else or join the military: I'm sure Argus has no special attachment to her."

The young takes a breath. "To business then. Gura told me that you are all already familiar with the warlord in the human town, and that if I so much as uttered his name it would bring our people closer together. Think that demon of his, Argus, probed the mind of one of your mages and found the connection..."

"Demons. Wonderful for Diplomacy, as no one can hide anything!
Indeed, we had discussed "dealing" with the warlord. Some suggested assassination, I posed the idea of inciting his people to overthrow him and replace him with a wiser ruler. I've some experience with dealing with Humans, you know.
Either way, it's a problem that will have to be dealt with eventually."

Zrallin briefly interrupts the meeting.
"Disaed, could you ask Towercap if gifts are appropriate for the upcoming occasion?"

When interrupted by Zrallin. Disead merely glares him away.

"Yes, the party! Thank you for the invitation. My friend Zrallin is concernced about frivolities, concerning presents and whatnot. Quite amusing. I'll assume you expect a token gift to show our appreciation, no more?"

"The warlords name is Charles Yellowsun. Ring a bell?"

The jaws of those present and capable of speaking goblin all drop. Charles Yellowsun was the face of the ennemy for most of the Age of Sorrow. The son of a human lord and a frost giantess, Charles combined the nobility, class, and education of his father with the sheer magical and physical might of his mother. He could slay warborn bezerkers with his axe and Dawnelves mages with his command over frost and ice.

From his 11th birthday on Charles lead an elite army across the land conquering and massacring any trace of Elfin civilization that he came across. Charles respected the warborn and would often offer prisoners the chance to duel him for their freedom. Many accepted, none succeeded. He held Elfin civilians however with the utmost disdain: He would torture and abuse any worker, leader, diplomat, or child that fell into his large and merciless hands.

10 years ago Charles turned his army against the Dragon Confederacy in an attempt to seize the throne for himself. Despite superiorly trained soldiers and popular support he was beaten back. Due to his 'heroics' the human King allowed him to chose exile over execution, so Charles built a fleet of long boats and set off with his army across the great ocean. Nobody in their right mind even dreamed that he might have survived the perilous journey.

Disaed had the 'privilege' of meeting Charles many years ago in the city. Charles was looking for a chemical to cure the toothache of one of the giant tigers that he bred as mounts. The transaction was quick, and the half giant left a huge tip.

"As for the party." Towercap continues casually breaking the silence "I would suggest offering Oka food or raw materials if you wish to get him a gift. He is a brilliant craftsgoblin and will likely be offended by anything that he could have made better himself. I know for a fact he loves plump helmets."

Towercap pauses for breath before continuing on, unaware of the implications of his previous statements. "I'd also be very polite to the young ladies while you are there; Oka's concubines have been running the show ever since the poor elder lost his voice."

Towercap dose not seem to understand Dhaekh's comment.

One day I'll have to tell you about my missions to the Human lands, when time permits."

It seems then, if informed of our existence here, Yellowsun would descend upon us in a rage so typical of his brood...was this merely good natured warning on your part, or do you plan action? For I have ever believed that as long as warmongers like this man exist in positions of power, there can be no true peace among Elves and Men.

and, on the lighter subject, I do indeed have a nice present then. On my way to the fort, I chanced upon an unsually large wild plump helmet. It should be ample!"

"Also, don't mind Dhaekh-he's one of the hermit Elves that lived deep in the underworld, so perchance the sun would roast him on the spot!"

A party next? What is this, a festival? And for goblins?! I don't know if that is a good idea.

Selande will move all her things to one of the vaccant bedrooms, preferably one with a closet and a coffert to store her precious regents in. She will then sleep.

"Is Yellowsun more of a threat than your typical human warlord? I didn't even know his name was supposed to be a warning good natured or otherwise... If you think action is necessary you should talk to Urist or my brother Horace, They handle the military planning and such. The former will likely be at the party, the latter is just outside waiting to escort me back home."

Towercap nods solemnly as Dhaekh leaves the room in a huff. "Hermit type eh? I have a hard enough time visiting the underworld to hunt. He must be one heck of an individual to make a lving out there."

I'm gonna write Caboose's actions in now. Cabooses actions have been added to the last turn!

"Well to put it simply, Yellowsun has a... Legacy among the elvenkind for atrocity. He's a brilliant and ruthless military commander, capable of inspiring and leading his soldiers to great degree. He's also rumored to be a legendary warrior, but his victories mostly came from beating starved and injured captive Elves, so I won't dignify that. I can't help but feel a certain uneasy aspiration for a half-breed like him rising to such heights...

His force of will is such he will suffer no rival, Human or otherwise-he was merely exilied for attempt to overthrow the confederacy. Given time enough to grow strong, he will begin his reign of terror again...and since all the Elves are gone, he may have to choose a new race to torment!

And, yes, we will discuss this later at the party..."

Towercap begins to leave before turning around. "Oh. I couldn't help but notice that you weren't drinking at the party. Outta booze? I'm sure if somebody sets her up a still your new sweetheart can brew for you Disaed. Just a thought."

The young Goblin scampers out of the fortress, and sets down the moutian pass with Horace.

It is now midnight. No meal is scheduled for midnight.

Dhaekh:


You think long and hard about the meaning of the number 16. Nothing jumps to mind so you close your eyes and focus deeply, hoping to find the answer in the deepest recesses of your mind. What you find instead is a flashback.

The dwarf sits on his golden throne next to your humble granite seat. "Your teachings have benifited us greatly brother Dhaekh. Our craftdwarves have just figured out how to apply your secrets to Adamentine itself! Once we finish paving our fortress in gold we will crack open the blue vein below us and follow it to the bottom of the Earth itself." You try to talk the dwarf out of his senseless greed, warning him that the blue metal is cursed and can only lead to greif, but your student turned dwarven king waves you off and calls for another mug of sewer brew. "Concepts such as 'greed' and 'curses' are matters for theologians and philosophers, not artists such as you and I. Look at where we are, and think where we could be if you spent more time teaching and less time rambling on about the sanctity of the earth!"

The vivid image of the past scalds your mind. You clutch your head and drop to the floor screaming. When vocalization fails to purge the pain from your mind you rise to your feet and bang your head against the wall of the mint until you pass out.

You have suffered a concussion (Medium injury)

Caboose:


Wandering through a misty field you look down and happen to notice a juicy wild strawberry on the ground. You pick it up and pop it into your mouth. As you chew it occurs to you that the floor is covered in strawberries for as far as the eye can see. You eat and eat until you are large enough to use a nearby foothill as a footstool to reach up and pluck a star from the sky. The tiny glowing light burns your fingers and jolts you back to reality.

You are lying in bed covered in sweat with the taste of strawberry on your lips.

Ochita:

You turn your magical focus to the last remaining locked door. After about a quarter hour of mental stress the metal buckles and shatters violently. You barely avoid being hit by the flying shrapnel. The hallway is long and dark. You can only see about 20 feet in. You decide to put off exploring the area and get some sleep. Your dreams are haunted by your late wife Sarifa.

Karratan:


In search of flux stone to make steel you head to the caverns once more. After some searching you eventually come across a wall of usable limestone. You pull out your pick axe and set to work mining the valuable mineral.

About 30 minutes into your task you spot movement in the corner of your eye. You turn around to see an antman pointing a blowgun at you from 20 paces away. Before you can react the primitive humanoid fires. The blowdart's aim is true and the projectile sinks into your neck.

You raise you pick axe and charge the creature. You cover half the distance to your target before the chemical in the blowdart grips your system, rendering out incapable of voluntary movement. You collapse on the ground.

You are paralyzed

Your attacker waits several minutes until he is sure that you are incapable of movement before lifting you up and carrying you off. The antman is slightly smaller than you, however its amazing natural strength allows it to carry you a great distance with ease.

After several hours of travel you arrive at a large underground ant mound. Several antmen strip you of all your belongings before parading you through the corridors and dumping you into a cell made of well crafted basalt blocks. After some time in captivity you regain some motor function.

You have lost all items on your person
Your movement is now very impaired


A guard checks on you from time to time; an antman warrior the size of a high elf with mandibles large enough to slice you in half. The guard mutters to himself in some bastardized version of the antman tongue. From what you can pick up he is concerned with the well being of either you or another prisoner.

You are now sleep deprived


Dusk:


You snort some blood lichen to better connect with the spirits. As soon as the substance kicks in you notice a whole host of spectral beings around the fortress. They all seem eager to talk with you, however the rage inducing effect of the lichen makes it difficult to communicate with the spirits in a coherent manner.

Eventualy one spirit picks up on your intentions and approaches you.

"I am Logem Wolfsoul. In life I was a hunter who lived in this fortress. I have a task for you, and would be willing to offer a small reward, however you need to obtain a suitable ranged weapon before you can be of use to me. Find a crossbow or something similar and seek me out again. May I suggest using a spirit viewing drug that is less mentally taxing next time?"


You spend the rest of the wee hours running about the fortress trying to pick fights with weak looking spirits and inanimate objects. The drug begins to wear off just as the sun comes up.

Selande:

You search through the bedrooms and eventualy find one that includes a good sized coffer. You transfer your chemicaly potent belongings into the new room and container before flopping down on the bed.

You find yourself incapable of overcoming your nocturnal instincts so you lie awake and allow your paranoia to consume you. What if your mother survived the journey through the caverns? What if the butcher Yellowsun discovers your settlement in the fortress? What if Ochita or Caboose magically and violently combusted in your presence?

By the time the sun comes up you are quite sure you have gone over every possible way that you could end up dead by another's hand.

Zrallin:


Heading into the caverns you quickly pick up the trail of an Elkbird. After about an hour of tracking you eventually spot the creature who extends it's neck and stares right at you. Deciding not to risk a frontal assault against such a dangerous and intimidating beast you head back to the fortress dejected. On the way back you hear a loud and disturbing rhythmic sound.

Upon further investigation the sound turns out to be the snoring of your sleeping cave dragon friend. The great beast seems to have recently killed a flock of giant cave swallows. Knowing that you can outrun the dragon you decide to risk stealing some of its food. Several minutes of cutting later you produce a piece of swallow meat small enough to carry back to the fortress. The dragon's snoring is rapidly becoming lighter and more interrupted so you decided to waste no time returning home.

Disaed:


You approach Goreruby and invite her to stay in your room. She refuses pointing out that despite it's grand appearance the room contains only one bed, and that she doesn't enjoy out of species encounters while sober. You decide to drop the subject and let her claim her own room.

Once the goblin leaves you grab up a rough ruby and begin to hack and chisel away at it with your knife. You decide to work in a hurry so as to leave ample time for sleep. After 30 minutes you stop work and examine your creation. Although by no means a work of art the ruby now has some fine edges and extra shiny spots.

+1 poorly cut ruby
You have gained a level in the gemcrafting skill!


You fall asleep and in your dreams you are Caboose. You find yourself fighting Charles Yellowsun in a battle of ice magic. The fight concludes with the half giant piercing your skull straight through with a thin shard of ice. You wake up to a terrible headache.

Goreruby the female goblin has taken advantage of this turn to catch up on her sleep.

It is now dawn. The next turn will cover 6 hours until noon. Oka's party takes place in one turn.

Karratan has not returned from his mining trip and it is not like him to miss breakfast. Perhaps a search party should be sent.

Try to replicate the strawberry thing on some random forest creature with illusions. If it succeeds, kill it for dinner. If it fails... kill it for dinnner...
