Okay, guys, I warned you: If no one got an island game off the ground, I would. Well, here it is.
The idea was initially pitched in
this thread. I've used bits and pieces of both Creamcorn's and Solifuge's incarnations of this proposed game to make my own. I thank the both of you for saving me (potentially) hours and hours of legwork.
Welcome to Island Forum Game: Take 3! Admittedly, I need a better title, but I don't think that's of utmost importance right now.
The rules:
Rule 1: Don't be a jerk. That's pretty much a given.
Rule 2: No conch shells.
Rule 3: During character creation, do your best to make yourself. You're not playing a catgirl, robot, zombie, super soldier, or serial killer (hopefully). You're playing you. I realize that you're a multi-dimensional being, and assigning numbers to your individual skills and abilities is difficult, but do your best.
Rule 4: Sign ups will be open until they are closed. I'm looking for 10-15ish players (more would be okay.) If need be, there will be a waiting list, after signups are closed.
Rule 5: Have fun. It's mandatory.
How the game will work:
There will be 4 action phases per day: Morning, Afternoon, Evening, and Night. Each person will get one action per action phase. If we wind up waiting for someone to make a move for a long time (pretty much long enough to make everyone impatient), we will carry out that action phase without them, and they will do nothing that turn (or sleep, if they haven't for the day.)
Each player must use no less than 1 action phase per day to eat, drink, sleep, and generally recuperate. Hunger, Thirst, Health, Stamina (Physical), and Fatigue (Mental) will be tracked. Not eating decent food, drinking clean water, sleeping, and generally resting will be detrimental to your health. Hunger, Thirst and Health will all be based on your (rough) body size. Smaller folks have less Health, but require less food and water. These changes will not be overly drastic, so don't fret about it too much.
