Child of Armok's Strabo Okomstot

I love how this drawing has so much going on in it! Here you can see the struggle of Armok's poor dwarves as they fight for survival against Strabo Okomstot. Unfortunately, the crossbow dwarves might have arrived too late to save their comrades.

I've always liked Slowpokez renditions. I think this is the first one I've seen that he's animated! I love how he can take any beast and make it look totally unique! This rendition of Strabo Okomstot looks like it was taken from a horrible nightmare! It's wonderful! (and bonus for the noxious secretions)

Wow! A lot of time and patience went into this piece! To draw each individual scale and then color and shade it... Dang! It makes my head spin just thinking about it. Looking past the technical side of things though, I imagine Strabo slowly lifting itself out of the murky waters as the medical dwarf stands mesmerized at the sight. He knows that this creature is something greater than the common cavern denizen, but is unaware that these thoughts will be his last. Very cool.

Thebi, forgotten beast hisses sharply, tasting the air with his barbed tongue. In a time before time, his hairy hide offered him the perfect camouflage in the moss covered pools of the underworld. Now, the mosses are gone. So, a word of caution to any dwarf who would dare venture the caverns alone; Thebi is on the prowl, and he hungers for flesh.

Oh wow! Double wow! This speed-painting style is amazing! The lighting is wonderful and really sets the mood. I like this a lot! (and if you look closely you can see that Thebi has claimed a victim! very nice touch!)

Another awesome action piece! I love the work you've done here and how you've captured the raw power behind Thebi's reptilian body! That poor poor dwarf! He didn't even see it coming.

His friends will come looking for him, and when they find the broken remains of the bridge, what will they think? A freak accident involving a poorly constructed bridge? or will they know that something terrible lurks in the waters below?

No words can express how truly awesome this picture is. I think we can all agree that Icecold's a master of that speed painting style. Beautiful lighting, a fearsome awesomely drawn forgotten beast, and it's a fight scene to top it all off. Yep... I do believe we have a winner.

I'm guessing the round Headhanger posted was just a bonus round to keep the thread alive, but I'm all in for having Headhanger choose a winner from that to select a 2nd beast we can draw in case anyone has a thing against drawing lobsters.

On a completly slightly unrelated note I would like to point out that -to avoid confusion- Headhangers round was a bonus round, right?

Which means that this week Darker's beast is the "official entry",

and that at the end of this particular challange he will also be the person declaring a winner.
This is necessary to get the thread back on track (I might add that I could possibly have been the cause of this slight derailment), if however Darker would choose to let Ice pick the next winner due to some sort of "fairness aspect" I don't belive it would cause any further problems.
I hope everyone agrees with me on this topic as it is my outmost belief that this is the simplest route to get everything back in sync.

I think the bit I like here the most is the tails, particularly the shading on the stingers. Also, notice how the near tail is reflected in the far tail's near side. Fantastic.

Lobsters are not the easiest crustaceans to draw. But Nuglush is pretty cool, so I had to have a go at it.

I'm still not happy with the caverns, but oh well. I wanted to put some water in there to complete Nuglush's spheres, but my water-drawing skills are still not "there" yet.

Also, can this really be called speed-painting? For example, I spent a few hours on Thebi, not really speedy, is it? Or is it just a certain style? I'm not really an expert in that kind of stuff, to tell the truth. 

So... blind arthropod with bright, warty shell, pincers and poisonous sting? Sounds suspiciously familiar. Guess I'll pass this round, it took me several days of fighting with procrastination to finish that scorpion...

Really great, some scary lobster you got there! Seems like a frame from some animation movie or something, wouldn't be surprised if it moved. So even if it's not very lobstery, it's still creepy. No lobster can boast such creepiness.
