Well the point of earth hour isn't that it is actually helpful but that it is supposed to make people think about saving electricity.

Though if I remember correctly the vast majority of energy consumed is for industrial use.

Storing electrical information takes little energy. It's moving things that takes a lot of power. That's why all of our information satellites can function on little solar panels and electric cars need to be recarged very often. Also, our electrical battery technology sucks. This is why we use organic compounds; the energy has already been stored for us.

Everyone turned off their lights during Earth Hour on my street.
Everyone except for me.
For shits'n'giggles I turned on every light and obnoxiously played video games in front of the window. I was happy when hippies from down the street decided to come and remind me of earth hour and how it saves electricity and is oh so important for the preservation of our planet.
I looked them dead in the eye and plugged in another lamp.

They left saying not so nice things about me.

All in all, I love Republic Commando.

You might want to install a magma flood trap. If you piss off the hippie diplomats, then they send sieges after you.

I will need to hire two bearded midgets, one to sit on my roof, watching, and signaling the other one when to pull the lever.

So... I guess this is an acceptable area to be a prick just for the sake of being a prick?

That's about what I did, except no angry hippies came to my house. *High fives Stas*

Or because you realize that global warming is hyperbole and mostly BS (See climategate).

Well, they weren't angry when they came, it was more when they left.
The hipster-looking chick's voice still can be heard in my head. "You think this is funneh?" She emphasized the last word for some reason.

Well, enough of my shenanigans. I remember you Zrk2, I remember how I wrote that I thought you were awesome, my stance has not changed.

I enjoy pissing people off and pointing out the logical fallacies of their arguments.

I already necro a bit too much...

ON TOPIC: The global climate has been cyclical for the entirety of earth's history. The Holocene Warm Period stretched on for 5000-9000 years and was much warmer than anything which has been predicted by modern science, without any interference from humans. As well, we can't predict next weeks weather with any accuracy, let alone climate trends.

Of course, I said it while looking her in the eyes, flashing my trollface bestest of smiles.

She also reeked of pot and had the funniest haircut. She had short hair, we could say a young boy's haircut, on one side, while the other was very long. She also had an odd bandanna with flowers on it.

I will go as far as saying that if you were to chart the earth's climate, you would have something that looks like waves within waves within waves, and the closer you zoom in, the wavier it get.
