And so falls The Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heart. What becomes of Brunch? Only time will tell.
Let me remind you that voting will close in next update (CH3 Part 3) So far our voters prove to be vile creatures! First siding with vampires, now betraying said vampires? Still, i shall provide!

"Betray Bodhi" option has won by an amazing 11:1 vote, we'll get to it in the next update, which will move the main quest forward. New poll added!
We're nearly done with non-boss content for chapter 3! Still this is an incredibly combat-heavy RPG even without any mods, and fight we will.

The update was quickly sticked together from some scraps that i managed to save before my BG2 installation went to hell. Bugs, crashes, ridiculous text changes.. All present.. But fixed for now!

Ochita is the first permanent death in our LP, unlucky. Unlucky, because Sleep-O was supposed to trigger the trap, with his insane health. It's permanent, because the body got destroyed by the damage. It happens sometimes. I'm sorry Ochi.
This also means that a spot has opened.
A disturbing fact : Both 3 and Brunch (and Ochita) WERE protected from fire. It's post reduction damage. Then again, we are playing on insane, right? Right.

Next update? Some boss fights. I require more time with script fixing, and videos are quite easy to make.

Edit : A minute in, and the free spot was taken. Impressive reflexes.

Good to see this back, I'm really enjoying reading it.

And damn, that was some insane damage to Brunch and 3 there. Sleep-O is one lucky bugger.

I've decided to throw in a quick technical update. Breakdown of characters etc.
Should've done that quite some time ago..  ::)

Stworca the Sorcerer
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Monskine the Totemic Druid
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Sleep-O the Anti-Paladin
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Captain Brunch the Fallen Inquisitor
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
3 the Bounty Hunter / Fighter (dualed at rank 13)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
New character "Unbekannt" the Kensai/Mage
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Special mention :

Deceased Ochita the Wild Mage
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Abandoned Vinith the Priestess of Helm
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Abandoned Moozg the Anti-Paladin
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Why does Stworca have some of the more powerful items, while Unbekannt has only a robe?
The higher the HP, the lesser the chance of irreversible death. Unbekannt has 120+ hp, which is very high. The character also has AC on pair with Stworca, with less items.
Stworca is also the party TANK for incredibly powerful enemies (Dragons & co) , and thus needs all help he can get.
Lastly, if Stworca dies, the LP is over. The way the game works - your character can NOT die, or you lose.

At this moment highest mortality rate award goes to 3. Ochita has Ironskin spell, sanctuary and co. Stworca and Unbekannt (and previously Ochita) are untouchable by random mobs. Brunch and Sleep-O have insane AC and health.
3 only method of defense is turning invisible. He does that as often as he can (potions), but it's often not enough. He dies in half a round when focused. Thankfully he does NOT have 40ish HP, and is unlikely to die irreversibly this early in the game.

Irreversible deaths work like this : A great amount of damage dealt in one hit has a chance of destroying your body beyond magical revival. The higher your max health, the higher damage is needed for a chance of irreversible death.
Ochita could irreversibly die from hits above 30. For Sleep-O it'd have to be 80ish.
Brunch was hit for 157 by the 3 Fire Arrow sequencer, which is more than his hit points, but he wasn't hit by that amount in one attack. The highest damage he suffered there was 16. If he were hit for 157 in one attack, he would be permanently killed 100% of the time.
Some attacks : Such as Cone of Cold, all fire damage, petrification and disintegration, have MUCH higher chances of permanently killing you. Disintegrate is the exception, it ALWAYS irreversibly kills a character. So does dying from attribute drain.

Regards! Update? Today probably!

Should you have any questions, shoot  :)

I'll try to cover the combat system briefly for you :

Melee is like in any other game. Except Backstabs deal up to 5 times more damage, and Helmets protect from critical hits.
Attack speed, accuracy and damage are increased with character levels, as well as Weapon Proficiency points and some items and spells.
It's a attack vs Armor roll every time. There are 4 types of physical damage. Slashing, piercing, crushing and missile. Some items give partial resistance to one or more types of damage. Some give increased Armor Class.
Some targets are immune to a type of damage, some are immune to non-magical weapons, some can be affected only by really powerful ones (example : Demi-Liches can only be hit by +5 weapons!)
There are spells that grant magical weapon protection for 4 rounds (24 seconds)
There are spells that grant protection from non-magical ones.

Now, magic system is why i love Baldur's Gate. It's a rock - paper - scissors one.

A chain example :
A mage can protect himself with Stoneskin. It stops up to 10 physical attacks (not elemental nor magical)
It can be dispelled with Dispel Magic, Remove magic, Breach or hitting the mage 10 times.
Dispel and Remove magic can be stopped with Spell Immunity : Abjuration
Breach can be stopped with Spell Defense, Spell Trap, Spell turning and more.
Spell Turning is dispellable with Spell Thrust, Secret word and more.
Spell Thrust cannot be cast on an invisible target
Spell Thrust is also too weak to affect a target protected with Spell Trap
True sight, Purge Invisibility, Oracle and more reveal invisible targets.
Non-decection stops the above spells, with the exception of True Sight.
True sight can be stopped with Spell Immunity : Divination
But Oracle ignores Spell Immunity Divination..

Et cetera, Et cetera, Et cetera  :)
Basically the more complex your defense chain is to dispel, the more time the enemy needs to make you vulnerable.
If mage level is high enough, there is always a way to work on enemy protections.

There are 7 types of magical damage. Magic, Fire, Magic Fire, Cold, Magic Cold, Acid, Electricity.
There are spells, scrolls and potions that partially protect from some (In Kuroisan fight we were all protected from Acid at 70% or more)
There are spells, scrolls and potions that FULLY protect from some
There is also the last resistance : Magic (not to confuse with magic damage)
It's a chance of ignoring a hostile spell altogether.
However there are a few spells that ignore magic resistance.
Which also can be increased by other spells, scrolls or potions.
There are 9 spell levels for Arcane spellcasters (Sorc, Mage) and 7 levels for Divine (Priest, Druid)

Mage can cast only one spell per round (6s) with the exception of very powerful end game mage using a very powerful, end game ability that removes the cooldown.
Spellcasting can be interrupted by damage, Crowd Control or effects such as Silence and Miscast Magic.
Mage spellbook is limited.

Insanity makes enemies deal double damage, and the mods i'm using upgrade them both AI wise, and attributes/ resistances / gear wise.

I hope it helps!

Hooray for combat!

This LP has been the first time I've ever watched someone else fight, which is cool.  It's fun to compare your tactics to my own.  Apparently I have the right idea but less polish and several bad habits (thus plenty of reloads for difficult fights).

I don't use Mislead, Invisibility, Impr invisibility or Shadow Doors. There are plenty of Invisibility potions in the game that don't take a spell slot. Also, in my opinion mage / sorcerer is the one character that should always tank enemies. No other class has this much tanking possibilities!
Yes, webs of protection spells are nice :D

Ah, but this is just one way of dealing with these fights. I'm trying not to overdo with cheese, and play in an unconventional way, or at least a fun to watch one.

A thumb up for the additions. I didn't want to go into detail too much though  :o

Bodhi? In next update! We're however going to clear a thing or two before heading to supper happy fun main quest place.

You actually finished a tough opponent with the Ring of Energy?  Damn.  I would've expected her protections to block it.
