Any ways, sorry I didn't get an update in last night, lots of work to do as it's the end of the quarter. If I can't do one tonight I'll bring up the possibility of skipping my turn as well but I really want to be a part of this.

The first little bit of excitement since I've taken over this year once again, and once again against my better judgement. Goblins! A whole lot of the bastards!
I'm a little confused, though, as to why a few of my soldiers were standing around out in the fields when they came. Apparently my predecessors thought it a good idea to have our heavily-armed, elite troops out on patrol duty, ready to be surrounded and overwhelmed by any attack... A shame indeed that I did not realise sooner.
Well, there is little we can do for Endok- I can see him out there, fighting madly amongst the enemy squads- but help he takes as many of them as he can in his glorious death.
Well, enough for now, it is time to suit up and get ready, for when we sally forth as they break themselves on our traps. This is certainly more exciting than those morons getting kicked to pulp by a deer! Time for some vengeance!

Good Lord Armok, this has to be the most epic battle ever!!
And Monkey, don't worry, I've never been able to get patrols to work. It turned out fine, though... The battle's still ongoing so I won't make a journal entry yet, but let's suffice to say that, essentially, three badass dwarves have pretty much routed most of the goblins on their own!

To be honest the patrols weren't meant for sieges, They were just there to stop goblin sneak thieves from scaring my engravers as the carved warnings of what will happen to all who invade our lands.
